Hello Everyone. Ametia here. I’m back from Charlotte with some more photos from inside and outside of the convention venues. Rikyrah & SG2 posted some of the best Arena photos from the speakers. My pics were shot from the upper balcony and mainly from the jumbo screens. I’m posting the pics and stories that did not get televised. This was the most fun part of the convention experience for me, meeting and connecting with folks and hearing their stories.
ALL PHOTOS HERE TAKEN BY AMETIA & HUSBAND.
Had to get a photo of this enthusiastic Obama supporter. She was sitting directly across from me in the arena.
….and Mr. Chris Porter from Ohio. Loving his ensemble. Ran into Chris in the lobby, just as I was making my way into the arena to take my seat.
Ametia & Ari Berman, The Nation Magazine investigative journalist & political correspondent. I ran into Ari right in front of the doors of the Time Warner Arena Thrusday evening, beore the convention finale. He’s a gracious, unassuming gentleman. I thanked him for the fine works he’s doing. Ari also is the author of the book “HERDING DONKEYS.” Ari can also be seen on MSNBC. Love his commentary.
Took this picute of the CNN DUDES Anderson Cooper & John King, while we were going through security check line Thrusday evening. Folks kept calling for John King to turn around so that we could take his pic. He was stubborn and refused to turn. Finally, I yelled,” Mr. King, I’m a big fan of yours,” and VIOLA’! This is the honest truth! (the turning when I told him I’m a BIG FAN.) LMBAO
So Anderson Cooper turns and smilesthat gorgeous smile of his, and I don’t get him in focus. But I’m posting it anyway.
Ametia signing the Declaration of Independence inside the Charlotte Convention Center. Folks can sign the document electronically, leave an email, and they send you a copy of the document with your and everyone who has signed it signatures.
The highlight of meeting new aquaintances: 87 year old Ms. EuFaula Frazier, a Florida delegate who has attended every DNC since 1972. And she has attended every Democratic inauguration since 1977.
Ms. Frazier told me that she took on former Alabama Governor Geroge Wallace, during the southern segergation era. She is a stalwart in the Civil Rights Movement. Ms Frazier told me to never, ever give up and continue to support President Obama and any cause that helps to bring about justice for All Americans.
Ms Fraizier and her daughter Melinda
This is a segment from a Black History Month series for PBS on Ms. Frazier.
