Army Staff Sergeant Salvatore Giunta Receives Medal of Honor

U.S. President Barack Obama awards Staff Sergeant Salvatore Giunta, U.S. Army, the Medal of Honor for conspicuous gallantry in the East Room of the White House November 16, 2010, in Washington D.C.  Staff Sergeant Giunta, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, received the Medal for his courageous actions during combat operations in the Korengal Valley, Afghanistan in October 2007.  Giunta is the first living recipient of the Medal of Honor since the Vietnam War.
