Is Oprah spreading herself too thin across the OWN network lineup?
    By Paige Wiser TV Critic/ Dec 31, 2010 05:59PM

You can’t say that Oprah doesn’t care. She cares too much about her fans, really, which is why she’s creating her own new channel. An hour of insight per day isn’t enough for us — or for her. The result is the Oprah Winfrey Network, premiering Jan. 1 where Discovery Health used to be.

Will it be your go-to channel? It’s too early to say, but based on early looks at a few shows, I’m worried that Oprah is spreading herself too thin.

Each series on the network is essentially an “Oprah” segment, stretched to an hour. It’s not necessarily a bad thing to delve deeper into subjects, but it turns out that more than an hour a day of Oprah enlightenment — even diluted — is emotionally exhausting.

Take “Kidnapped by the Kids.” It’s a cutesy title for what boils down to a parent intervention show. In the first episode, the dad’s crime is working too much. Dad thinks he’s taking part in a documentary about work-life balance, but he’s ambushed at the airport when his kids insist he take a week of vacation, right now, and go camping with them.

It’s an extreme reminder of what’s important in life, and family members all confess their most cringe-worthy feelings. Insightful, yes. It’s also borderline invasive. Is it fair to basically beg your Dad to quit his job on national TV? Oprah doesn’t pay Dad’s salary, kiddies.

Man strips at Va. airport checkpoint in protest
    The Associated Press
    Friday, December 31, 2010; 7:13 AM

RICHMOND, Va. — Police say a man stripped to his underwear at a Virginia airport checkpoint in a protest against security procedures.

Airport police said the man took off his shirt and pants at Richmond International Airport on Thursday. He had scrawled across his chest a reference to the Constitution’s 4th Amendment protections against unreasonable search and seizure.

Police identified the man as 21-year-old Aaron B. Tobey of Charlottesville, Va. He told police he was a student at the University of Cincinnati.

Tobey was interviewed by airport police and federal authorities, issued a citation for disorderly conduct and released. He is scheduled for arraignment on Jan. 10.

Another attention WHORE. News flash dude, there is NOTHING in the Constitution that states you have a RIGHT to FLY in an AIRPLANE. Next time take the A-Train.

  7. Joe Scarborough: I Might Run For Office Again

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough says he might run for political office again.
The former Republican congressman and current host of “Morning Joe” told Parade that it’s possible he runs for office again in the future.

“At some point I may feel the need to run for office again,” Scarborough said. He said he hasn’t yet wished he was back in Congress, saying he has “more influence doing the show,” but he would run for office if he saw “an absence of leadership.”

“If Washington continues to fumble issues like taking care of the debt, getting the troops home, and rebuilding our economy, my wife and I may sit down and say, ‘These are critical things and maybe we need to get back in the ball.'” he said.
HuffPost’s Howard Fineman reported last month that Scarborough and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg were considering running for the White House together; at the time, Scarborough denied any direct talks between the parties but said, “Have people discussed it in his sphere and in my sphere? I think so.”

Scarborough told Parade that neither of the two is exactly Vice Presidential material.

“If someone could figure out which one of us has the capacity to be vice president, I’d like that person to explain it,” he said. “I’ve been around Mayor Bloomberg, and people who’ve been around me would laugh at the notion that either of us [could settle for being second-in-command].”

Oh really Joey Scar? I’m sure for 8 years while Bush & Company fucked up our country taking us into DEBT into WAR, and destroying our ECONOMY, you and your miss Ann said the same exact thing. NOT.

Anybody in that White House, but the Black, Barack, right Joey?

Go ahead and run, Joey Scar. 3Chics will be more than happy to plaster thread upon thread asking about that DEAD INTERN.
