September 24, 2011 is ‘Worldwide Day of Play’ event in Washington, D.C.

On September 24, 2011, Washington, D.C. will transform into an active play zone.  As the U.S. Congress has officially declared the date as the “Worldwide Day of Play” there will be activities held on the Ellipse, which is located south of the White House.   The event first began on October 2, 2004 and is hosted by Nickelodeon.  Both the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives passed H.Res 410 on September 23, 2011 which officially declared the 24th of September as the day to focus on healthy activities. source
