The 2012 White House Correspondence Dinner will air Saturday night. Coverage begins at 6:30pm ET this Saturday, April 28 on C-Span here. We love the red carpet entrances at the Hilton. In addition to video coverage, C-Span will have social media comments from celebrities, media, and our viewers (using the hashtag #WHCD or #nerdprom). This year’s featured comedian is Jimmy Kimmel.
“Jimmy’s humor is sophisticated and edgy while appealing to a wide audience,” said Caren Bohan, a Reuters journalist and president of the White House Correspondents’ Association. “We are thrilled that Jimmy has accepted our invitation to be the featured comedian at our annual dinner.”

What’s your favorite WHCD event? Loved Wanda Sykes in 2009; she was the first featured comedian for the Obama administration, and she SLAYED it.
She NAILED Rush Limpballs and the GOP, for their professed UN-AMERICAN mantra “I HOPE THE PRESIDENT FAILS.”
But last years was by far my favorite! Wonder what the President has in store for Americans this year…
Great showing again by our President! As far as last year’s goes, I was watching a documentary on the mission to get bin Ladin. They pointed out the President’s demeanor during the correspondents’ dinner last year and one guy they interviewed said, “I would not want to play poker with that guy.” No kidding, right! There was no hint on his face that anything historically significant was happening as he spoke.
I’d say that speaks to the will of a leader he has. Anytime anyone criticizes his “chops”, refer them to that night’s video and put it into context.
