Mitt Romney’s creepy hand wants your $2k to pay for tax breaks for his millionaire and billionaire friends.
Tell Mitt Romney: Get your hand out of my pocket!
It looks bad for Mitt Romney to push a tax plan that favors the rich
There seems to be a Democratic mole inside Mitt Romney’s campaign. Could it be Romney himself? Well, of course not. But considering the campaign’s behavior, it might just as well be. President Obama and his allies have cast Romney as a wealthy fat cat who’s out of touch with everyday Americans and who would use his presidency to enrich the already rich. To counter this damning image, the last thing you’d expect Romney to do is embrace a tax plan favoring the super-rich.
Which is exactly what he’s done.
After examining Romney’s proposal, the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center concluded that households with incomes exceeding $200,000 would receive tax cuts; meanwhile, taxes would rise for the other 95 percent of the population. Taxpayers making more than $1 million would receive an average cut of $87,000; those under $200,000 would pay an average $500 more. Romney denies that he would raise taxes on the middle class but has provided no evidence that the Tax Policy Center’s analysis is wrong.
What can he be thinking? Read the rest here.

Dems Kick Off “Romney Economics: The Middle Class Under the Bus” Tour in Alexandria
Washington, DC—The Democratic National Committee’s “Romney Economics: The Middle Class Under the Bus” Tour II will kick off TODAY, Friday, August 10 at 9:30 a.m. EDT in Alexandria, Virginia and then make stops in Richmond and Norfolk later today. The tour will highlight Mitt Romney’s record of failure as Governor of Massachusetts, the lack of support small businesses received from Governor Romney’s Administration and Romney’s proposed tax hike on middle-class families to pay for massive tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans. The DNC’s latest tour represents a reprise of the successful tour by the same name that the DNC conducted in June to respond to Mitt Romney’s tour at the time, which included stops in NH, PA, OH, IA, WI and MI.
Throughout Mitt Romney’s career, middle-class families have frequently found themselves thrown under the bus as a result of his failed record and top-down economic policies. When Romney was Governor of Massachusetts, the number of business startups fell by 10 percent and hit its lowest point during his last year in office. Massachusetts ranked 47thout of 50 in job creation, and Romney hiked taxes and fees by $750 million a year in addition to saddling the Commonwealth with the highest debt per person in the country.
