Michigan, you voted Snyder back in. We don’t want to hear one whimper from anyone . Wow!!!

  2. eliihass says:

If I don’t turn off the tv, my heart will break tonight. WTF???

    • Liza says:

I’m not watching, I just can’t. But I’ve been reading Nate Silver’s predictions so I didn’t expect this to go well unless the Democrats turned out in droves. I guess we’ll have the full picture in the morning and I can wait.

This is what the Democrats get for not supporting PBO and allowing the GOP and right wing media to control the messaging for the last six years.

  3. eliihass says:

I do not recognize this country!!! What the heck is going on ?? How are these evil republicans winning?? How is Ed Gillespie winning? Is the racial hate that blinding???

  4. BREAKING: Sen. Jeanne Shaheen will win reelection in New Hampshire

  5. Who advised Alison Grimes to distance herself from the leader of her own party? Whose dumb idea was THAT? It was so offensive!

    • Liza says:

Alison lost big. Nate Silver gave Mitch a 98% probability of winning so this one turned out as expected. The Democrats need better candidates, but I have no idea where they will come from.

  6. eliihass says:

How is Anthony Brown not winning this with clear margins. Why is Ed Gillespie even still in contention.

  7. So much for Alison Grimes…”I am NOT Barack Obama”. She went down in flames.

    • eliihass says:

She desperately needs seasoning. She lost this race herself. You do not disrespect the the leader if your party, the sitting President of the United States and get to waltz into the Senate. I hope Hillary is watching – and Bill too. If they fail to deliver Arkansas, their much touted influence and power is rubbished.

      • roderick2012 says:

Ha, ha, ha, Eli, I noticed that too.

Bill thought he was going to play the good ole boy race card when he and Hillary campaigned for Grimes and the white rednecks would vote for her. Well he was wrong.

I guess Grimes made no effort to reach out to the blacks in Louisville or Lexington which is typical of red state Democrats..they are afraid that white voters will see them hanging out with darkies.

    • eliihass says:

When McConnell is more gracious than Grimes, that’s a problem. Look at McConnell sounding all sweet and loving, we’ve got a problem .,

    • Ametia says:

If Hill & Bill coached Grimes…. MAJOR FAIL!

  8. eliihass says:

I love Tom Wolf!! I’m so glad he won over that evil Corbett.

  9. eliihass says:

I loathe the media!!! This is all a game to them. People’s lives are going to be affected by the outcome of these elections. Mitch McConnell and his ilk are evil!! There’s no good news here. Not for Americans. How are we this dense??

    • Liza says:

      How are we this dense?

Well, a lot of folks don’t know what they’ve got until it’s gone. And when they eventually find out, it’s too late. The rest of us have to watch what was left of our democracy fade away while elections are bought by billionaires, Democratic voters are disenfranchised, and people who answer to evil men occupy our Congress. Media goes along for the ride because they make so much money on elections.

      • eliihass says:

Yet somehow these same people will turn around and buy into the lies to blame President Obama. They vote against their own best interests and then blame the man who repeatedly warned them not to go with the republicans.

    • Ametia says:

Hillary better take notes from Grimes’ DISMAL FAILURE.

When you RUN from PBO, you’re running from his base

BASE= BLACKS, HISPANICS, & SMART WHITE FOLKS & ASIANS who can see through the CLINTONS’ game)

  10. eliihass says:

So Karen Finney’s out at MSNBC . Can’t say I didn’t see this coming. Somewhere along the way she became less of a PUMA and less effusive if Hillary, and actually began to demand respect for President Obama. I don’t think they liked that.

The most important political money man you’ve never heard of

    Lawrence Delevingne | @ldelevingne

The big money behind the elections Tuesday comes from a host of familiar billionaires.

Republican industrialists Charles and David Koch are as powerful as ever. Tom Steyer, the hedge fund manager-turned- environmentalist, has been highly public about his climate-change crusade. Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is again in the mix focusing on gun laws, education and gay marriage. Mega midterm donors also include ultra-wealthy investors Paul Singer and George Soros and their respective conservative and liberal causes.

But there’s one name on the top 10 list most people won’t recognize: Robert Mercer.

Better known as “Bob,” Mercer is co-head of Renaissance Technologies, a secretive hedge fund firm that manages $25 billion using fast-trading computer programs from its headquarters in a quiet hamlet on Long Island.

Thanks both to looser campaign finance rules and his promotion to help lead one of the largest hedge funds in the world, Mercer has quietly become a major player in politics since 2010. With more than $8 million donated this election election cycle alone, he’s the second-largest Republican donor to outside spending groups since the 2012, behind only Singer, and fourth overall after Steyer and Bloomberg.

Recent donations include a $2.5 million check to Kochs’ Freedom Partners Action Fund—more than the Koch bothers themselves have given—a “super” political action committee that has spent $24 million to support Republicans like Senate hopefuls Joni Ernst in Iowa and Cory Gardner in Colorado. Super PACs were made possible by the Supreme Court’s 2010 decision in Citizens United, which allows them to accept unlimited contributions from corporations and individuals as long as they don’t coordinate directly with a campaign.

    VOTE PEOPLE, VOTE

  13. eliihass says:

God, I can’t stand this Jonie Ernst woman. How is she getting more than 5% support? This country simply can’t afford one more nut bag like this woman in our consciousness, let alone out government. You are better than this Iowa. Please don’t do this to America.

Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp’s office failed to process tens of thousands of voter registration cards – mostly in heavily African-American counties – before the election, and it’s causing confusion at the polls. Karl Ragland and his wife moved to Atlanta from elsewhere in the state earlier in the year and submitted a change of address form to the Board of Elections. But when they showed up at their new polling place in Atlanta, they learned that the form had never been processed. Karl has to drive 35 miles to Covington to vote, causing him to miss up to two hours of work.

“I am going to vote today,” Karl said.

Here in MN, there were at least 20 incumbents on the ballot unchallenged. We have the option of writing in names, which is a joke, because the names aren’t valid and it’s the same as voting for the only name on the ballot, unless a majority of voters decide not to vote for the incumbent and write in the same name. SMGDH

Except for Senator, Governor, and Attorney generals, the rest of these folks go unchallenged.

Do you have any opinions on candidates for Judge?

    • TyrenM says:

It just occurred to me that I think you told me you’re not in Hennepin County. If you see this and have any thoughts in the next 1/2 hour before I go vote, I’ll take it.

      • Ametia says:

Hi Tyren. I am in Hnnepin County. See I’m too late.

David Lillehaug was one of the few incumbents I blackened the oval for.

Mother accused of throwing son, 6, off Yaquina Bay Bridge

NEWPORT, Ore. — A Lincoln County woman was jailed for murder after she reportedly threw her six-year-old son off the Yaquina Bay Bridge in Newport Monday night.

Authorities said 34-year-old Jillian McCabe called 911 at 6:25 p.m. to report what she did. She told police that she heard voices in her head telling her to throw the boy off the bridge.

    2014 Senate Forecast
    by BooMan
Tue Nov 4th, 2014 at 12:30:01 AM EST

Before we get to talking about the Senate, I want you to consider the following possibility. Imagine that tomorrow night the following incumbent Republican governors will lose their bids for reelection:

    1. Paul LePage of Maine
    2. Tom Corbett of Pennsylvania
    3. Rick Snyder of Michigan
    4. Scott Walker of Wisconsin
    5. Sam Brownback of Kansas
    6. Rick Scott of Florida.
    7. Sean Parnell of Alaska

I don’t think this far-fetched in the least, and on a good night Governor Nathan Deal of Georgia might lose, too.

Now, don’t get me wrong. There are Democrats running for governor who might lose tomorrow, too, including in deep blue Connecticut and Massachusetts. But before we start talking about an epic beat down for the Democratic Party, we should keep these governors’ races in mind. A governor has a lot more power than any individual senator. And losing control of big states like Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and (perhaps) Georgia would be a very big deal.

So, keep your eyes on these races because the Republicans are at risk of suffering a significant bloodbath tomorrow even if things go as expected in the Senate races.

How I despise Joe Scarborough!!! What a disingenuous person. This show is utter rubbish. It appears to exist only for one purpose, to push lies by discredited one hit wonders and relics of politics like Tom Brokaw, Bob Woodard etc.. Please someone tell me why anyone would take any advise or listen to predictions from Steve Schmidt who helped bring us Sarah Palin??

  22. eliihass says:

I’ve never seen anything like this. All these republicans and their media mouthpieces counting the chickens before the eggs are hatched. I hope they all look foolish tonight.

    • Ametia says:

Yes; folks like Mika & Joe are PHAT PAID to help muddy the waters, so Americans stay confused, dazed,, stupid, dumb, poor, sick and die.

They’re one of the MAIN reasons for America’s DECAY, by blaming POC and the poor for America’s ill, while trying to keep their knees on the throat of the poor and POC.

Twisted muththafuckas, the lot of them.

      GET OUT AND VOTE PEOPLE!

      • eliihass says:

You’re so right. Psychological warfare is all they’ve got these days and with the help of the media, they’re really working it. They’ve bought up all the media outlets. Liberal leaning and non-partisan radio stations that existed just 2 short years ago, have been completely taken over by them. They control the media and use them to disseminate propaganda. We no longer have a free press – or journalists. Money. Greed. That’s all that’s driving these mad men and women. But we are supposed to be the worlds example of a functioning democracy?? We can’t have a democracy without a functioning press that informs and accurately reports.

I do not want these media people or the corrupt politicians and greedy oligarchs who own them, rewarded in anyway. I want them defeated. I desperately want us to win this thing. I want that smirk wiped off Chuck Todd’s face, and Joe Scarborough shut up for at least a month!!! I want the whole lot of them to eat crow. And by the way, I’m so disappointed in Eugene Robinson. What the heck earth sucking up to Bob Woodard?? Bob Woodard should have been laughed off the stage years ago, instead he’s still treated as a credible source. Watching that program this morning made my blood boil. It’s like they belong in some alternate universe where blatant lies are spun as truth. They spend 3 hours lying to and parting each other on the back and calling on all sorts of dubious partisan hacks as sources. Since when did the right wing rag The Daily Caller become mainstream or even remotely credible about anything???

Media was target of Ferguson flight ban: AP

    11/03/14 08:09 PM—Updated 11/03/14 09:24 PM

    By Nazanin Rafsanjani

After more than a week of protests, arrests, and clashes with police following the police shooting of Michael Brown, the FAA renewed a flight ban over Ferguson, Missouri. Rachel Maddow pointed out how the no-fly zone inhibited the media’s ability to cover the story and thereby hurt the American public’s ability to understand the situation on the ground.

From the August 19 Rachel Maddow Show:

Rachel Maddow: And it was hard to know for sure, but that’s a really important part of the story, that we honestly cannot witness from the perspectives that we are allowed and we thereby cannot communicate to you at home trying to be an educated news consumer about this story. We cannot communicate an important part of what police are doing on the streets of this town. We can see what’s directly in front of our ground level vantage points, but it has been impossible to tell how scenes like this related to, say, the streets nearby.

That kind of perspective is why news organizations use helicopters in the first place. Without a view from high up, in a circumstance like this, it is hard to get beyond the running moment-to-moment experiential level.

And frankly, that is not enough to accurately and objectively report on the rationality and reasonableness and the effectiveness of police tactics and protesters’ tactics. It’s hard to tell what’s happening when you can only see it from five feet off the ground.

And part of the reason we cannot tell what’s happening from a better vantage point is that the media just literally cannot show it. Physically, the media is not being allowed to show what we need to be able to show in order to characterize this in a way that is objective and makes the most sense.

According to the AP, that was the intended effect

    http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/media-was-target-ferguson-flight-ban-ap

    • Ametia says:

I guess the media didn’t have as much $$ & POWER to get into Ferguson as the Missouri state leaders like Governor Jay North, Senator Claire Macaskill, Mayor Knowles, and the Ferguson PD.
