Think about that. The President of the United States is supposed to take the lead in foreign policy. Because this President refuses to go to war with Iran, and is, in fact, taking steps to bring Iran to the table and negotiate with them after 30+ years, the war hawks in the Congress want to undermine that. They are mad that this President is choosing NOT to bring this country into another war and feed the Military Industrial Complex. How obvious was this that this speech was all about undermining the President?
MOSSAD
MOSSAD has taken the extraordinary step to speak out against it.
Israeli intelligence officials have been briefing both Obama administration officials and visiting U.S. senators about their concerns on the Kirk-Menendez bill, which would increase sanctions on Iran only if the Iranian government can’t strike a deal with the so-called P5+1 countries by a June 30 deadline or fails to live up to its commitments. Meanwhile, the Israeli prime minister’s office has been supporting the Kirk-Menendez bill, as does the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, ahead of what will be a major foreign policy confrontation between the executive and legislative branches of the U.S. government in coming weeks.
Here’s a clip from Lawrence O’Donnell’s show explaining just how foul and TRAITOROUS what Speaker Boehner has done in extending the invitation to Netanyahu.

Netanyahu has offered Caroline Glick, founder of Latma, which produced several racist anti-Obama satirical vids, a spot in the Likud list

If Boehner is not interested in foreign policy then why did he do this? Was he bribed? Offered favors/votes for his speakership position?
Someone suggested that inviting Netanyahu was payback for Obama’s executive action on immigration, but Agent Orange had a chance to bring the bipartisan immigration bill passed by the Senate in 2013 up for a vote in the House during the Lame Duck session but refused.
Now immigration reform is going to be one of the albatrosses hanging around the collective neck of the GOP presidential candidates thanks to Congressional Republicans not passing some type of immigration reform.
Karma! It’s what’s for dinner!

Remember when they used to try to sell folk like Steve Kornacki as part of the ‘liberal base’? They all hid their strong entitled-white- disconnected-from-the-blacks libertarian adherence under that questionable ‘progressive’ umbrella.
Steve Kornacki doesn’t just lean libertarian, the guy is a dyed in the wool, unapologetic libertarian who’s completely disconnected from and doesn’t even really interact with black ‘progressives’, nor does he ever discuss anything remotely concerning black people.
Netanyahu Unaware of the Camera ‘America can easily be moved’
Bibi has only gotten crazier and out of control since he planted his even more rabid, uncouth and smarmy pal Ron Dermer as Israel’s Ambassador to the United States. The wealthy Israeli lobby and the politicians they’ve bought, has aided immensely the misguided audacity and brazen behavior of this arrogant and disgusting man.
Behind Obama’s back: How Netanyahu’s U.S. trip was cooked up
http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/.premium-1.638396
Speaker Boehner’s invitation was preceded by weeks of contacts between Republican leadership and Israeli ambassador Ron Dermer, who is pushing lawmakers for new Iran sanctions.
The official invitation extended on Wednesday by U.S. House Speaker John Boehner to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, to address a joint session of Congress on Iran on February 11, had been preceded by contacts between Netanyahu advisers and Boehner and other congressional Republicans that totally bypassed the White House.
How in the living hell can you jab your ally in the eye? WTF? Netanyahu’s a racist war monger. Dear God, pls let him be tried for war crimes.
Benjamin #Netanyahu goes too far.

This time Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu might have gone too far.
It’s bad enough that John Boehner invited him to address a joint session of Congress and lobby for more sanctions on Iran — and directly seek to undercut the president’s top diplomatic initiative. Far worse is that Netanyahu accepted the invitation; it was a demonstration of ingratitude and hubris rarely seen before in the annals of the US-Israel bilateral relationship.
In the process, Netanyahu has not simply blindsided the Obama administration, but, ironically, he may have directly undermined his own political fortunes.
This kind of behavior from Netanyahu is nothing new. Throughout Obama’s time in office, he has seemingly gone out of his way to stick his finger in the president’s eye.
It began with Israel’s refusal to abide by American demands for a settlement freeze, worsened in 2011 when Netanyahu delivered an infamous “history lesson” to Obama in the Oval Office in 2011 on the security challenges facing Israel. It hit a new low when he all but endorsed Obama’s 2012 GOP rival, Mitt Romney, and it hit rock bottom when he disparaged the 2013 nuclear agreement between the United States and Iran and tried to get Congress to kill it with new sanctions legislation. In between, Israeli officials have both publicly and privately disparaged the administration, particularly Secretary of State John Kerry.
Democrats rally around Obama amid furore over Netanyahu Congress visit
http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/jan/23/democrats-obama-boehner-netanyahu-congress-visit
The White House is growing more confident it can withstand efforts to frustrate its policy of nuclear talks with Iran, as a furore over the intervention of the Israeli prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, appears to be encouraging wavering Democrats to rally around their president.
In the first White House press conference since the Republican House speaker, John Boehner, sparked controversy by inviting Netanyahu to speak before a joint session of Congress amid calls for a tougher approach to Iran, administration officials claimed there was support for their argument that planned legislation authorising new sanctions, if talks fail, would be counter-productive.
“I think there is plenty of indication that the … at least some members of Congress have found this rather plausible line of argument pretty persuasive,” the White House spokesman, Josh Earnest, told reporters.
“I think there is plenty of indication that the … at least some members of Congress have found this rather plausible line of argument pretty persuasive,” the White House spokesman, Josh Earnest, told reporters.
Netanyahu is scheduled to address Congress on 3 March. He will also attend the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (Aipac) conference in Washington scheduled for 1-3 March.
Earnest refused to speculate on a likely vote count, but sympathetic lobbyists in touch with Democratic congressmen claim the polarising impact of Boehner’s invitation to Netanyahu is making it harder for Republicans to reach a veto-proof majority for the sanctions bill.
“This move by Netanyahu has definitely backfired in terms of Democrats,” said Dylan Williams, director of government affairs at J-Street, a Washington lobby group which describes itself as pro-Israel but supports a two-state peace process for a Palestinian state.
J-Street sent out a letter to its US supporters on Friday, urging them to warn their congressmen not to support the visit, which will fall just two weeks before elections in Israel.
My comment for you SG2 landed in the wrong place. I was writing about the destructive and crazy precedents the republicans are pulling. It’ll all blow up in their faces.
Tzipi Livni says Israeli prime minister leading country into ‘diplomatic isolation’.
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/jan/23/israel-opposition-netanyahu-isolation
Israel’s prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, has been accused by senior opposition figure Tzipi Livni of leading the country into “crisis and diplomatic isolation”, amid growing criticism of his handling of relations with the US.
The comments by the former justice minister and lead negotiator in the peace process with the Palestinians came after it was revealed that Barack Obama would not meet with Netanyahu during the Israeli prime minister’s visit to address Congress in March.
The planned trip, which was orchestrated by congressional Republicans in clear breach of protocol by a visiting foreign head of state, has provoked fury inside the US administration, not least because the White House was not notified before its announcement.
A US official quoted anonymously in the Israeli paper Haaretz went even further, accusing Netanyahu of “spitting in the face” of the Obama administration.
Netanyahu’s invitation to Congress by the Republican House speaker, John Boehner – two weeks before Israel goes to the polls – has attracted fierce criticism from US officials off the record, a cool reception from the State Department in public and sceptical commentary from Israeli columnists who have accused Netanyahu of engineering the speech to further his struggling election prospects.
“We thought we’ve seen everything,” the senior American official was quoted in Haaretz as saying. “But Bibi managed to surprise even us. There are things you simply don’t do. He spat in our face publicly and that’s no way to behave. Netanyahu ought to remember that President Obama has a year and a half left to his presidency, and that there will be a price.”
The various precedents the republicans have set these past 6 years, will not only be impossible to reverse, but will end up specifically biting the republicans in the you know what, and being their undoing. They’ll ultimately get caught in the trap they’ve set for this President.
He the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad.
We saw what #Netanyahu did to innocent Palestinians and little babies in #Gaza this past summer. Evil has no bounds.

Beat their asses with a tree trunk! Boehner’s move here should send a message to all those poor white republicans that the GOP’s only interests lies in war, profit, and the 1%
Yeah, and Bibi just wants to kill people, all of Israel’s “enemies” like the children in Gaza, for example.
Liza, Bibi is all about Bibi keeping power. Bibi doesn’t care about Israel’s security or enemies as much as Bibi exploits those touchy and explosive subjects to hold on to power.
Boehner’s move here should send a message to all those poor white republicans that the GOP’s only interests lies in war, profit, and the 1%
But their ancestors are the ones who fought the Union army for the wealthy slavemasters/landowners and they have the same mentality.

All Boehner is really doing is continuing to undermine his on own legacy. At best, Boehner’s self-indulgence is disgraceful.
It’s kinda hard to care about undermining a legacy that’s practically non-existent, or at best stinky.
Boehner’s only legacy thus far, is leading the least performing Congress’s in modern history, and perpetually crying and drunk while at it.
I agree.
Spot on, eliihass. John Boehner is another Mitt Romney. He just thinks he is entitled to become Speaker of the House. He didn’t earn it, and since he has been in the position, he has been ONE.BIG.MAJOR.FAIL.

For sneaky, backstabbing DEMOCRATS:
Much less frequently quoted on this holiday is MLK’s Letter from a Birmingham Jail, in which he writes that:
“The great stumbling block in [the] stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to ‘order’ than to justice.”
If only it were ‘order’ that motivates their underhandedness of the disloyal cretins these days Ametia.
It’s more greed and that contemptuous racist anger that a black family although of their same party, lives in ‘their’ White House and occupy ‘their’ Oval office and command the attention of the world these days.
**the underhandedness..
the GOP have this much disdain, disrespect, and gall to undermine this president, and Bibi is using their behaviors towards this POTUS to his advantage.

the US needs to WITHDRAW FUNDING for ISRAEL. We’re paying Bibi’s Israel billions to SPIT in our face? GTFOH
I guess my question is, how are Boehner and Bibi going to get the American people to support a war with Iran? September 11, 2001 was the catalyzing event that enabled the invasion of Iraq in 2003 because the warmongers were somehow able to mislead Americans into believing that Saddam Hussein was responsible in some way for the attack. Even though most Americans can be misled because of how corporate media operates in this country, there still was a catalyzing event that set off the chain of events that led to the Iraq War. When the true cost of that war is tallied up, even the dumbest of Americans can see that the future of this country was mortgaged to pay for it. Like they say in ECON 101, it’s guns or butter.
So, the logical next move is to do it again in Iran, right? I really wonder what these folks like Boehner are thinking. Maybe Americans are not as stupid as he is counting on, or perhaps he believes it doesn’t matter. If the GOP wins the presidency in 2016 and still hold the Senate and the House, they will just do it. And that may just be the final nail in the coffin of our democracy, or what is little is left of it.
It’s sheer insanity, Liza. The GOP rob, steal, lie, and cheat Americans out of their rights, jobs, healthcare, education, etc,, to keep us poor, sick, ignorant, dumb while they pull up to the trough and feed on GOVERNMENT $$$. and warmonger our citizens straight to their graves.
STOP THE MADNESS
It is insanity, that is exactly what it is.
I’m going to sit back & keep my eyes peeled on which Democrats will go along with undermining this Potus. We saw what they did in the November elections.
The Democrats have major problems going into the 2016 elections. Collectively, they didn’t support their own president, so where do they go now? They need to stand for something, but they seem mighty confused about what that is anymore. They think Hillary will run and win, and apparently her campaign will figure out something they can stand for.
There are a few dems who have already UNDERMINED this POTUS.
We-see-you-joe-manchin, to name a few.
Some of them ducked out early in his admin, either retiring form their post, after he took office. They saw the writing on the wall. some didn’t want to be in an administration under a BLACK president. YEAH, I SAID IT. so they moved on to civilian life.
One of these days, I will do a post on this topic. I need to do some research, and I’m sure I can name the DEMOCRATS for you.
That should be an interesting post.
There aren’t just ‘a few’ Ametia. There are quite a number of them, and they continue to reveal themselves and show their faces and butts as opportunities present.
I’ll be glad to give you names, offenses, dates, times, venue. I’ve got it all stashed away.
I can already tell you which ones will.
Thanks to Bibi’s insidious shenanigans, the Christian right’s Israel prophecy connection, the Military Industrial Complex war and oil adventures in the oil-rich Middle East, for so long many have conflated being pro-Israel with towing the line or co-opting Bibi’s blatant manipulation for his own selfish agenda to hold on to power at any cost.
Menendez is a MOFO snake-in-the-grass.
