Chaka Khan 25Chaka Khan (born Yvette Marie Stevens, March 23, 1953) is an American singer-songwriter whose career has spanned four decades, beginning in the 1970s as the frontwoman and focal point of the funk band Rufus. Often dubbed the “Queen of Funk”, Khan has won ten Grammys and has sold an estimated 70 million records worldwide.

Chaka Khan was born Yvette Marie Stevens on March 23, 1953 into an artistic, bohemian household in Chicago, Illinois. She was the eldest of five children to Charles Stevens and Sandra Coleman, and has described her father Charles as a beatnik and her mother as ‘able to do anything’. Raised in the Hyde Park area, ‘an island in the middle of the madness’ of Chicago’s rough South Side housing projects.[2] Her sister Yvonne later became a successful musician in her own right under the name Taka Boom. Her only brother, Mark, who formed the funk group Aurra, also became a successful musician. She has two other sisters, Zaheva Stevens and Tammy McCrary, the latter of whom is her current manager.

      I will say that whites definitely succeed at being the vilest and most heinous with their crimes. And getting away with it, an art form. How’s that for American exceptionalism?

    The Republic of Ireland has voted overwhelmingly to legalise same-sex marriage in a historic referendum.

    More than 62% voted in favour of amending the country’s constitution to allow gay and lesbian couples to marry.

    It is the first country in the world to legalise same-sex marriage through a popular vote.
    Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny said it was a “small country with a big message for equality” around the world.

    The referendum was held 22 years after homosexual acts were decriminalised in the Republic of Ireland.

        Same here. I have no faith in the system. It’s so damn corrupt from the top to the bottom. The DOJ has failed Trayvon, Michael Brown while their killers are walking free, some wealthy. To hell with the DOJ, it’s just for show.

        Sorry guys! I’m not feeling the DOJ, Been crushed to the earth. I don’t trust them.

Rwnj can save their morality spiel, cuz when it suits them, they run towards the law they created to enable them to act immorally.

        Yeah Girl, no faith in the system at all and so tired of hearing about the amazing cops and the cops that they want us to put on a pedestal simply because they did the job they signed up to do without killing us. Fuck the entire system!!! Justice is blind, it can’t see the truth!!
