Who knew that Joel Benenson was such a slimy, patently dishonest lowlife..? And don’t get me started on that god-awful Brian Fallon guy…He used to be the spokesperson for the Justice Department (no surprise there! Few know who he is because we never saw or heard him from him as the Justice Department continuously shirked its responsibilities and embraced a lax and non-responsive attitude towards the murders of innocent black folks at the hands of murderous cops).
Might explain things also that he was spokesman for Chuck Schumer before that – and supposedly one of the ‘most skilled Democratic communicators’…LOL…only if James Carville, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity got together and opened a communications school that is..

It’s such a shame that by the time most of these opportunists are done propping up Hillary, they’d have left the Democratic party in tartars – and undone all the good from the past 8 years and lost all the integrity, positive energy and goodwill the Obamas brought to the party…

And LOL at all the talk about Bernie’s age…even coming from those who lament that V.P Biden was their first choice and that he would have their vote if he were running….Bernie and Joe are the same age….and just 4 years older than Hillary…But now ageism is perfectly acceptable but only when it’s used to place doubt on people’s minds about Sanders…

I’m actually getting quite mad about this, and if they keep this up, they might just end up pushing me into actually volunteering for Bernie Sanders…

THIS is how you know Michigan Republicans are absolutely freaking out over the #FlintWaterCrisis that they created

After passing legislation to slash revenue sharing to already struggling urban areas including Flint and after passing an anti-democratic Emergency Manager Law – Public Act 4 – and after passing another anti-democratic Emergency Manager law – Public Act 436 – after voters rejected the first one (and making it democracy-proof with an unnecessary appropriation) and after these Republican-appointed overseers – the Emergency Managers of Flint – made decisions that lead to the poisoning of Flint’s drinking water and after our Republican-led administration altered water test data to avoid taking action when lead was found and after our Republican administration lied to the USEPA about treating the Flint River water and after our Republican administration violated the Clean Water Act and the Lead and Copper Rule and after our Republican administration ignored, maligned, and ridiculed the heroes who blew the whistle on the Republican-made catastrophe in Flint and after our Republican-run administration ignored and delayed and obfuscated until they no longer could and were forced to take action months after lead was found in Flint’s drinking water, Michigan Republicans now want you to believe that THEY are the ones taking care of business and that the federal government is somehow failing Michigan.

There’s no gray area here. Every guilty person can be identified. Every criminal action can be identified. This was not an accident, it was not a mistake, it is not about incompetence. It was deliberate.

The puppeteers who want complete and absolute control over their puppets..He’s their best bet because all their other investments might just get in there, get too big for their breeches and go rogue.. And things might start getting a tad messy..Can’t have that…Christie, Hillary, Jeb, Kasich…They all answer to the same masters…

Trump and Cruz are independent nuts with their own agenda…

  5. I’m cooking creamy red beans w/ ground beef, ham hocks, sausage, rice & cornbread.
    Mmmmm hunnie!

    • eliihass says:

      You called SG..? LOL…

    • Liza says:

I haven’t cooked red beans and rice in so long.

For those of you not from the south, back in the day southern women washed clothes on Monday, so they put on a pot of red beans to cook all day mostly unattended. This became a southern tradition that folks looked forward to because red beans and rice are so good. But you’ve got to have those ham hocks, at the very least. And before serving, you take about a third of the beans, mash them, and put them back in the pot for that creamy texture.

Okay, now I really want some.

ICYMI, some highlights of the Queen’s Speech

Watch: Hillary Clinton Touts Progressive Record in Speech After Iowa Caucus

I am a progressive who get things done for people. I am honored to stand in the long line of American reformers who make up our minds that the status quo is not good enough, that standing still is not an option, and that brings people together to find ways forward that will improve the lives of Americans.

I look back over the years of my involvement, from that very first job I had at the Children’s Defense Fund, and I know—I know what we are capable of doing. I know we can create more good-paying jobs and raise incomes for hard-working Americans again. I know that we can finish the job of universal healthcare coverage for every single man, woman and child. I know—I know we can combat climate change and be the clean energy superpower of the 21st century. I know we can make our education system work for every one of our children, especially those who come with disadvantages. I know we can make college affordable and get student debt off the backs of young people. And I know we can protect our rights—women’s rights, gay rights, voting rights, immigrant rights, workers’ rights. I know, too, we can stand up to the gun lobby and get commonsense gun safety measures.

And how do we do that? We do that—we do that by securing the nomination, and then we do it by winning and going into that White House, as others before have, determined to push forward on the great goals and values that unite us as Americans.

So, as I stand here tonight, breathing a big sigh of relief—thank you, Iowa—I want you to know I will keep doing what I have done my entire life. I will keep standing up for you. I will keep fighting for you. I will always work to achieve the America that I believe in, where the promise of that dream that we hold out to our children and our grandchildren never fades, but inspires generations to come. Join me. Let’s go win the nomination! Thank you all, and God bless you!

Marshals told to ‘hunt down’ Earley with subpoena

Darnell Early subpoenaed but won’t show………………..
Earley’s attorney, A. Scott Bolden, confirmed to the Free Press on Tuesday night that a subpoena was issued, but he added that it was issued at 6 p.m. Tuesday and required that Earley testify at 9 a.m. Wednesday, even though Earley is not in Washington. Bolden said that timeline “borders on the nonsensical” and is “completely unenforceable.

    • Liza says:

Yeah, and then her Iowa victory speech is all about her being a “progressive.” How many real progressives support mass incarceration? Two, the Clintons.

I don’t get all the Bernie hate out there, I really don’t. I had to unfollow a few Clinton worshippers on Twitter yesterday, they have gone from ridiculous to unbearable. People who are in denial always get on my nerves.

    • eliihass says:

This is the same woman who keeps touting her job at the Children’s Defense Fund ‘straight out of Law school’ to suggest that she alternately had a heart and concern for, and was honed into the injustices and unfairness inherent in being black in America, and that she cared about the children…

But here’s that same woman talking about kids as ‘super predators’…

All ironic and amusing especially in a time when everyone is ‘heartsick’ and beside themselves with worry about the ‘health epidemic’ that is heroin and opioids sweeping through predominantly white communities…

The Justice department handles the ‘criminal matter’ of crack devastation in black communities…with incarceration..

The Department of Health Services handles the ‘sensitive’ ‘health matter’ of the ‘alarming’ epidemic of heroin and opioid ‘addiction’ in white communities with a $1.1 Billion dollar *treatment* plan…

“…exposed the ugly underbelly of conservatives…” As if it needed more exposure. But I see Trump as fairly mainstream for a wing nut. He just gave a public face and a voice to their thoughts, but what has he actually said that is original? Not a damn thing.

      • eliihass says:

I’m still amused at how the same Trump who in the thick of his birther and ‘the blacks’ rants just a little while back, was fully embraced and defended by everyone including the Clintons who called him a ‘dear friend’ and ‘gracious and nothing but very kind’ to them…With Bill waxing poetic about how he always enjoyed and looked forward to their golf games together…

But now we’re all supposed to be so offended by Trump…and only because he told a few truths about the Clintons and threatens to tell a few more that would seriously derail her Oval office ambition..?

Bernie’s Narrow Hack in 2016 is a Far Cry From Obama’s Broad Appeal in 2008

Iowa did not broaden Bernie Sanders’ narrow appeal. It confirmed it. Sanders’ support is intense but narrow, and he remains incapable of building the type of broad coalition Barack Obama did in 2008. Sanders is stuck with adoring support among largely white and male populations – typically a strength of the Republicans whereas the only majority in the Democratic party is formed by women. Sanders’ support is intense among white-privileged college students, who, well-intentioned as they may be, lack the experiences that force black and brown kids to grow up quickly and either avoid or are largely unaware of the full scale of work it takes to actually make progress towards the political goals they espouse.

Michelle Obama, Julianne Moore and Lena Dunham Talk Social Media
    Alexandra Stegada
    February 2, 2016

ore magazine editor in chief Lesley Jane Seymour talked “media with a purpose” on Tuesday with an all-star panel of speakers, which included Michelle Obama, Julianne Moore and Lena Dunham.

The panel, which took place at the American Magazine Media conference at The Grand Hyatt, kicked off with the news that Condé Nast, Hearst and Meredith joined forces to give $9 million worth of free public service announcements in their various magazines for the First Lady’s Let Girls Learn initiative with the Peace Corps.

    From DON over at TOD:

Of course Bernie Sanders wants to blow the system up, it is the same system by the way that has allowed him to sit on his ass up in Washington for thirty years and accomplish nothing of note. For all our lives black people have been told that in order to change the system you must do it from the inside, which is what President Obama has done.

And now here comes Bernie Sanders preaching revolution, President Obama didn’t need a revolution to bring about Obamacare, he didn’t need a revolution to get Iran to abandon its nuclear ambitions and give up its nuclear material. President Obama didn’t need a revolution to end DADT and to usher in marriage equality, nor did he need a revolution to change our disastrous policy against Cuba. I don’t recall any speech that President Obama has made that he has used the word “revolution.” So now you can throw the phrase “revolution” onto the same pile of trash that “make America great again” rests on.

    • eliihass says:

Sorry fam, but some of these folks are seriously overreaching by dishonestly recasting Sanders’ and his words…twisting themselves into a pretzel trying to make this about Bernie Sanders fighting President Obama, to get people behind Hillary…

It’s disingenuous and blatantly manipulative…and no smart person is falling for it…

“In the past, I don’t care how poor this white woman was, in the South she still felt like she was more than us. In the North, I don’t care how poor or how rich this white woman has been, she still felt like she was more than us. But coming to the realization of the thing, her freedom is shackled in chains to mine, and she realizes for the first time that she is not free until I am free.

The point about it, the male influence in this country—you know the white male, he didn’t go and brainwash the black man and the black woman, he brainwashed his wife too. . . .He made her think that she was a angel. You know the reason I can say it, folks,I been watching. And there’s a lot of people been watching. That’s why it’s such a shock wherever we go throughout this country,

it’s a great blow. White Americans today don’t know what in the world to do because when they put us behind them, that’s where they made their mistake. If they had put us in front, they wouldn’t have let us look back. But they put us behind them, and we watched every move they made.”.
