Dave Franco, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Orlando Bloom, Malin Ackerman & More Take It ‘Easy’ For Joe Swanberg’s Netflix Series

Joe Swanberg’s career has moved to the beat of his own drum. While he can’t seem to shake the now passé mumblecore tag, the writer/director/jack of all trades has developed from his own hyper-indie early works to attracting well known actors to feature in movies like “Drinking Buddies,” “Happy Christmas” and “Digging For Fire.” And his next career leap finds him going to Netflix, where he’ll bring his strong work ethic to a brand new series.

Based on Hillary’s unsatisfactory answer, I hope that Mr. Jackson decided to vote for Bernie Sanders.

Hillary Clinton’s Deep Ties to Haiti Show Signs of Strain
    MARCH 14, 2016

Carrying horns, handwritten signs and bottles of gasoline to light tires on fire, a group of men marched into one of the many protests in Port-au-Prince that have paralyzed parts of the Haitian capital this year.

They were angry with their president, who let Parliament collapse and failed to hold scheduled elections. They were angry with the United Nations for not ensuring a fair vote for his successor. And they were angry with the former American secretary of state who had helped put him in power.

“You see all these people here?” said one of the Haitian-flag-draped protesters, Jean Renold Cenatus, who said he was unemployed. “It’s because of what Mrs. Clinton did five years ago that we are facing this situation.”

In their post-2000 lives as global citizens, Hillary Clinton and former President Bill Clinton have been tied to no country more closely than Haiti. As a United Nations special envoy, Mr. Clinton helped raise hundreds of millions of dollars for the country after its devastating 2010 earthquake. Mrs. Clinton traveled there four times as secretary of state and shepherded billions of dollars in American aid

In widely read blogs, in protests in Port-au-Prince and outside Mrs. Clinton’s campaign headquarters in Brooklyn, and on popular call-in radio shows in Florida, where primaries will be held on Tuesday, she and her husband have become prime targets of blame for the country’s woes.

Among the litany of complaints being laid at their feet: Fewer than half the jobs promised at the industrial park, built after 366 farmers were evicted from their lands, have materialized. Many millions of dollars earmarked for relief efforts have yet to be spent. Mrs. Clinton’s brother Tony Rodham has turned up in business ventures on the island, setting off speculation about insider deals.

“A vote for Hillary Clinton means further corruption, further death and destruction for our people,” said Dahoud Andre, a radio show host in New York who has helped organize protests against the Clintons. “It means more Haitians leaving Haiti and not being able to live in our country.”

And now, a president who Mrs. Clinton helped get elected has turned out to be another in a long line of troubling leaders.

“POC protesting Trump makes him stronger, so stop it” is such a weak, white response. POC are being victimized daily by this surge of hate.

    Obama likes first lady’s ‘curves’
    By Judy Kurtz

President Obama says he’s a fan of Michelle Obama’s “curves.”

“When you’re the dad of two daughters, you notice more what when I was a kid I didn’t realize as much or maybe was even a part of — which is the enormous pressure that young women are placed under in terms of looking a certain way,” Obama says in a wide-ranging joint interview with ballet dancer Misty Copeland for Time and Essence magazines.

“That pressure I think is historically always been harder on African-American women than just about any other women, but it’s part and parcel of a broader way in which we socialize and press women to constantly doubt themselves or define themselves in terms of a certain appearance,” Obama, dad to Malia, 17, and Sasha, 14, says in the interview released Monday.

“Michelle and I are always guarding against that,” Obama says before adding of the 52-year-old first lady, “And you know, the fact that they’ve got a tall, gorgeous mom who has some curves and that their father appreciates, I think is helpful.”

Madonna melts down on stage in Australia as custody battle for son Rocco rages on

It was Madonna as they’d never seen her.

While performing on stage in Melbourne during the Australian leg of her Rebel Heart Tour this weekend, she had what many media outlets are calling a “meltdown” in the middle of her March 13 concert as her bitter custody battle with ex-husband Guy Ritchie over son Rocco rages on.

She not only fell off a tricycle and told fans she’d “messed up” her songs, but begged for sex and swigged tequila from a fan’s flask before pleading, “Somebody take care of me, please. Who is going to take care of me?” reports Britain’s The Sun and Daily Mail newspapers as well as the MailOnline.

She also reportedly told the crowd, “If I have learned one thing in my life, it’s just to go with it. If you just laugh it doesn’t hurt as much.”

Madonna also dedicated a song to her estranged son, 15, and had one of his childhood photos projected on stage — something she also did a week earlier as she and ex Guy Ritchie prepared to head to court again.

Reporter Who Says Trump Aide Grabbed Her Resigns From Breitbart

    Published MARCH 14, 2016, 7:57 AM EDT
Miichelle Fields, the reporter who alleged that Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski grabbed her arm at a press conference last week, resigned from Breitbart News on Sunday, Buzzfeed News reported early Monday morning.

“Today I informed the management at Breitbart News of my immediate resignation,” Fields said in a Sunday night statement to BuzzFeed News. “I do not believe Breitbart News has adequately stood by me during the events of the past week and because of that I believe it is now best for us to part ways.”

Ben Shapiro, an editor-at-large for Breitbart who called for Lewandowski to be fired, also resigned from Breitbart, according to Buzzfeed News. In his statement, Shapiro slammed Breitbart and its chairman, Steve Bannon, for not offering enough support to Fields and her account of the incident.

“In my opinion, Steve Bannon is a bully, and has sold out Andrew’s mission in order to back another bully, Donald Trump; he has shaped the company into Trump’s personal Pravda, to the extent that he abandoned and undercut his own reporter, Breitbart News’ Michelle Fields, in order to protect Trump’s bully campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, who allegedly assaulted Michelle,” Shapiro said in the statement.
