My only comment about this is that Deray and others who get photos like these, I don’t think they do not help the cause. They just get attention and then what?
We need real changes here. I don’t have time to read about Deray getting arrested.
Yes, we do need REAL changes.
They feel that they are exerting visible collective pressure to make headlines to increase awareness and force the mainstream media to cover the story… much as in the sixties.
However, they need to get jobs within the system, I think, in order to make the real change.
Also, protestors are going to lose the chance of gaining allies if they block bridges and highways that incur the frustration and wrath of drivers.

From Jennifer Rubin of all people:
Ten mistakes Reince Priebus made
July 8
When the postmortem on the GOP 2016 presidential race is conducted there will be plenty of blame to go around. Candidates ran shoddy races, attacking one another and hanging around far too long. Voters gave way to anger, nihilism and rank prejudice. Elected leaders were reticent to speak up But it was Chairman Reince Priebus who will long be remembered for his series of spectacular errors. To review:
1. Priebus never understood that Trump had neither the means nor the inclination to run as a third candidate. Spend his own money?! Priebus put the entire party at Trump’s mercy by creating a suicide pact (the pledge) with Trump. Like the JCPOA, once the pledge was in place it was vital to keep it there. Priebus then began a dangerous approach in which appeasement, rationalization and out-and-out water-carrying were the rule.
2. Rather than going on bended knee to Trump to extract the pledge, Priebus should have used leverage (free debate time, access to RNC fundraising, rhetorical support and defense from the RNC) to demand Trump cease attacks on fellow Republicans, improve his tone and show some understanding of both policy and political mechanics. If Al Gore had shown up to run in the GOP race would Priebus have sat idly by? And yet that’s essentially what he did when a man who had no particular loyalty to the party moved in for a hostile takeover.
3. Pledges for any candidate were a bad idea. Kevin Williamson wrote recently: “The Republicans who promised to support the nominee no matter who made an error in judgment. That’s forgivable. But now it is time to admit the error, step up, and do the right thing.” Explicitly putting partisan loyalty over conscience, conservative principles and reciprocal loyalty from the candidate was another grave error from Priebus.
If Critics Think Death Threats Will Stop Baltimore’s Marilyn Mosby, They Don’t Know Mosby
Tensions remain high as the prosecutor’s office finds itself under siege by threats and taunts from racists.
BY: ERICKA BLOUNT DANOI
The death threats come daily to the office of Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby as the trials of police officers in the death of Freddie Gray continue to go on.
There’s a sameness to the threats, which accuse Mosby of racism, of being crazy, and arguing that she should be “hung” for daring to prosecute six police officers over the death of Gray, who was in their custody when he died.
“YOU are a racist criminal! YOU are a worthless racist [expletive],” read one of the threatening emails.
“You are out of your mind. When the violence starts and they turn their anger on you, maybe the officers will be a little slow to react. You are a cop hater. Marilyn Mosby is nothing but a [expletive] Black Panther [expletive]. She should be hung,” read another.
There have been many more threats to Mosby since the indictment of the six police officers in the death of Gray, including people coming to her house and concocting fake news stories in which her husband is murdered and police officers do nothing.
“The threats have been turned over to the Baltimore Police Department and I have heard the FBI is investigating,” Rochelle Ritchie, Mosby’s spokeswoman tells The Root. “I guess some people wonder if she will be deterred from seeking justice in Baltimore City because of this. My answer to that is no. She will continue to seek justice for all victims.”

HOW is this anything BUT….
RACIAL PROFILING?
…………………………………………
“he looks like one of our suspects just cause of his wide-set nose” – police audio of Philando Castile’s traffic stop
ST PAUL – The uncle of Philando Castile said the police scanner audio we obtained is an example of racial profiling.
KARE 11 has attempted to confirm the authenticity of the recording with police officials, but so far they have not responded.
We have verified that the license plate mentioned by police in the recording matches the plate of the car Castile was driving. The location the officer gives also corresponds to the locations of the traffic stop.
“I’m going to stop a car,” the officer says on the recording. “I’m going to check IDs. I have reason to pull it over.”
“The two occupants just look like people that were involved in a robbery,” the officer says. “The driver looks more like one of our suspects, just ‘cause of the wide set nose,” the officer continues.

‘I would have done 5’: Nashville cop busted for callous post about Philando Castile
08 JUL 2016 AT 20:04 ET
Police officers in two Tennessee cities were swiftly disciplined for social media activity following the fatal shootings of Philando Castile and Alton Sterling this week.
In Nashville, Officer Anthony Venable, an eight-year veteran of the force, was “decommissioned” after posting, “Yeah. I would have done 5,” in a Facebook conversation regarding the shooting death of Castile, who was shot four times during a traffic stop. Venable said the comment was meant to be sarcastic.
“The police department is treating this matter very seriously and took immediate action, regardless of what he claims the context to have been,” Police Chief Steve Anderson told The Tennessean. Anderson had previously told The Tennessean that he was concerned that people were judging all police by the actions of the police officers involved in the shootings of Sterling and Castile.
“I am extremely concerned and disturbed by the videos and the accounts we have heard thus far coming from Baton Rouge and Falcon Heights,” Anderson said.
A vigil and protest is planned for Friday night in Nashville, and Anderson said that the vigil should go on as scheduled, despite the massacre of police in Dallas Thursday night. Anderson indicated his support for people to express their concerns. He insisted that Venable was not representative of the Nashville force.
He told Nashville Public Radio: “What he said does not in any way represent the men and women of this police department It was a disservice to the city of Nashville. It was a disservice to this police department. It was a disservice to every individual officer on the street. It’s something that can’t be tolerated.”
Meanwhile, over in Memphis, the Commercial-Appeal reported that Memphis Interim Director Michael Rallings had suspended two officers for a social media post. The officers posted an image on Snapchat that was an illustration of a white hand pointing a gun at an emoji depicting a black child.
You don’t “discipline” this type of officer. You remove him and his types from your police force, especially if as you say:
Good Morning 😆, Everyone 😄
Off to swim 👙and run errands. 😇
Good Morning Everyone. I have enjoyed this week’s post. Thank you ,Rikyrah!
