Even though 3Chics Politico is written and curated by three women: Ametia, Rikyrah, and SouthernGirl2, I must nominate this as one of the most engaging blogs I've found. Devoted to politics and culture, these three shine a light on contemporary life with humor and spirit.

I will not lie. When I first read this, I howled with laughter inside the store and people were staring at me. I did not care.

And why aren’t the Democrats raising hell about this? Usurping the power of the executive branch of government should really be an issue. Could it be they want Hillary to make the appointment? Oh, now they wouldn’t go that far or would they?
McConnell can kick rocks. He’s an old fool probably in the early to mid stages of dementia. The white trash that vote for him apparently don’t notice, seems normal to them.

I really appreciate the lasting marriages of these couples.
We know that relationships in general are complex. We stay in marriages for myriad reasons, be it financial, for the children, etc., for each other, because we genuinely love each other.
Choosing to be and stay in a marriage relationship shows true commitment to support each others’ growth, in what ever way a couple chooses.

I love the Olympics! Really enjoyed the opening ceremonies.
My little sweetheart is with me today. Nap time.
She is such a precious little one. I want to reach out and give her a hug!🎀
She is so adorable 😊😊😊
Such a little darling. So peaceful…
My kids just left and went home. I had a big pot of soup ready for Jonne & Brittany when they got off work. Everyone loved it. I’m missing my little Parker already.
Parker’s an ANGEL.

Agreed. It is one of those searing images. Cops high five each other for executing a kid. To hell with due process, they just simply don’t believe in it.

This is how 2520 Entrepreneurs get the baked in chance to succeed. I’m sure that there are plenty of Black business owners who would love not to have these kinds of costs weighing on their business.

City’s costly food fight with clout-heavy Park Grill settled
Tim Novak
@tnovaksuntimes | email
The decade-long food fight between City Hall and Park Grill has come to an end 11 months after a judge ruled Mayor Rahm Emanuel couldn’t break the sweetheart deal Mayor Richard M. Daley gave a clout-heavy group to run Millennium Park’s only restaurant.
Emanuel has agreed to drop the city’s court appeal. And Park Grill’s operators agreed to finally start paying for garbage collection, natural gas and water and also to accelerate their rent payments.
The deal will save Chicago taxpayers $5.7 million over the next 18 years, according to Stephen Patton, City Hall’s top lawyer.
The lawsuit Emanuel filed in late 2011, months after succeeding Daley, has cost taxpayers $6.9 million in legal fees paid to private law firms hired by City Hall and the Chicago Park District to battle the restaurant’s high-powered lawyers.
Patton defended the legal battle, which included a 63-day trial before Cook County Judge Moshe Jacobius, who ruled last September the city had no grounds to break the 30-year deal the restaurant got from the park district under Daley.

Staunch CPS Critic Let Go From Teaching Post At Roosevelt H.S.
By Patty Wetli
August 5, 2016 4:02pm
ALBANY PARK — Among the hundreds of CPS teachers and staff members who received pink slips Friday was one of the district’s most vocal critics, Roosevelt High School’s Timothy Meegan.
A 12-year veteran of the school’s social studies department, a Chicago Teachers Union delegate and all-around social justice advocate, Meegan has been outspoken in his opinion that CPS is “broke on purpose.”
“I truly believe the intention of those in power in Chicago is to dismantle public education,” he told DNAinfo after the district announced that nearly 500 teachers and about the same number of support staff were being laid off. “The willful neglect of neighborhood schools is a travesty.”
People Aren’t Really Appreciating Just How Bad Trump’s Campaign Has Been
“He is a neutron bomb that has gone off in the Republican Party,” said one top aide to Romney’s 2012 campaign.
08/05/2016 03:29 pm ET
…………………….
But to apply that aphorism to Trump’s past week might not do the barrel justice, veterans of past campaigns argue. Stuart Stevens, a top aide to Mitt Romney’s 2012 campaign and a frequent Trump critic, noted that other candidates have imploded before. No one, he argues, has done it quite as spectacularly and with such a large potential for damage as Trump.
“Donald Trump is Todd Akin. He is Richard Mourdock and Sharron Angle,” he said, referring to three infamous Republican Senate candidates who committed fatal verbal miscues. “But that is really not fair to Akin, Mourdock and Angle. They weren’t nuts. They had political views and others that made them unelectable. With Donald Trump, it is instability. He is an absurd candidate for president. He is a neutron bomb that has gone off in the Republican Party that is destroying anyone near him.”

Inez Y. Kaiser, first black woman to own a national PR firm, dies at 98
BY WILL SCHMITT
Inez Y. Kaiser was a fierce fighter for black women in business, but her career didn’t take off until after she quit her job.
She stopped teaching home economics to become the first black woman in the U.S. to own a public relations firm, building a base of national and local clients. Along the way, her reputation grew: She pushed for minority women to have a seat at the table, advocated for greater civil rights and advised two presidents as part of a panel on minority women in business.
Inez Yeargan Kaiser, of Overland Park, died Sunday at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park. She was 98.
