    Y’all deserve a treat tonight.

  2. Oh really, Kate?

    National Anthem lyrics 3rd verse

“No refuge could save the hireling & slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave…”

    • Liza says:

      *** sigh ***

The lyrics, that is the entire lyrics, of the national anthem is not a matter of anyone’s opinion including that of Ms. Upton. Why are (some) people so stupid?

  3. Ametia says:

Hillary Clinton was diagnosed with pneumonia on Friday, her campaign said
Hours after the Democratic presidential nominee fell ill at a 9/11 commemoration Sunday in New York, her doctor said in a statement that Clinton “was diagnosed with pneumonia. She was put on antibiotics, and advised to rest and modify her schedule. While at this morning’s event, she became overheated and dehydrated.”

Unusual that they just didn’t say that to begin with

    • Liza says:

Hmmmm. Now wouldn’t you imagine Hillary would have had the vaccine given to people over 65?

    • Liza says:

The weather today in NYC was low 80’s and 33 percent humidity. That is not what most folks would call humid except where I live in the desert. Some of these folks trying to diminish the public concern for Hillary’s episode are saying that the heat was just “stifling.” Actually, it sounds like it was a pretty nice day for weather in NYC.

    • Liza says:

Also, where was her water bottle? Shouldn’t she have a water bottle with her at all times and shouldn’t she be sipping water especially when outdoors? It’s not a sign of weakness.

Okay, that’s their story. I guess we’ll see.

  4. Liza says:

Who does this remind you of? The Seattle Seahawks?

  5. Liza says:

Okay. I just watched the opening of the Seahawks / Dolphins game. They brought out a giant flag. They played a message from PBO about 9/11, resilience and unity and so forth. Someone in the military (Air Force, I think) sang the national anthem while all of the Seahawks stood with locked arms.

Well, I might agree that today is a bad day for taking a knee. But someone will have to explain to me how this “unity” performance will stop the killing and assaults on black citizens and other POC. And, if we were to factor in the Bush Administration’s response to 9/11, using it to justify the wrongful invasion of Iraq in 2003, we might just want to forego this entire display of how great we are when we are unified.

Seattle Seahawks, are you really that tone deaf? I don’t think that all of you are, but someone over there is grossly out of touch. Today was a fail.

    • Liza says:

Four Dolphins took a knee during the national anthem. Amazing. They are the brave ones.

    • Ametia says:

Agree, accept I think Today is a perfect to take a knee. So much HYPOCRISY regarding 911. America continues to travel down that river in EGYPT called

DENIAL that white supremacy is still alive and thriving and it result is the KILLING of UNARMED BLACK MEN & WOMEN. UNEQUAL TREATMENT OF POC, poisoning our citizens, plowing down Native American sacred sites for money, power, jut GREEDY.

Yet USE and ABUSES 911 to justify the fuckups of the BUSH ADMINISTRTION to deign TERRORISM from the dirty Arab Muslims!

Again, painting any persons of color as the VILLIAN, the real TERRORIST!~

      • Liza says:

Well, four of the Miami Dolphins took a knee but I didn’t see them on TV, of course. And I think that the Seahawks unity performance has gone over like a lead balloon.

  6. Liza says:

Uh, y’all, this is not looking good at all.

Liza, here is the tweet including the video:

      • Liza says:

Thx, Yahtzee. She clearly is unable to stand or walk on her own. She can’t step off the curb and they shove her into the van. Awhile back, I saw where she uses a step stool to get into the van. Well, this isn’t “overheating”. People generally do not pass out from heat exhaustion when they are standing still and temperatures are in the low 80’s.

She hasn’t been looking well either. I don’t want to feed the right wing narrative that she is sick, but she’s going to have to be more forthright about what is going on. She may just be severely run down and in need of rest. But they’ve made this an issue by trying to hide it, whatever it is.

      • yahtzeebutterfly says:

Rather than thinking she was feeling faint from the heat, it looked to me as if the motor nerves in her legs were temporarily not functioning.

She is better now, and after spending two hours at her daughter’s apartment, she was able to walk on her own to the waiting vehicle. See:

      • OMG! She clearly couldn’t walk on her own.

      • Liza says:

Yeah, I saw that she recovered after resting or whatever. I’ve read that she has a hypothyroid condition but she should be on medication for that. But if you look at her photos from the last couple of months, she looks terribly run down.

      • sunshine616 says:

Honestly looks like MS. I have it so I know. I’m prone to coughing fits and when under stress I can lose the feeling in my legs and arms and have even lost my vision. It is also sensitive to the heat so when overheated your symptoms can get worse temporarily

      • Liza says:

That is interesting, Sunshine, very interesting. Well, rest assured, there will be questions. I just don’t think that there will be answers unless something happens in public that cannot be covered up.

      • Ametia says:

@sunshine. My mother had MS, and the symptoms the Hillster’s displaying do in fact mimic those of MS

      • I worked with a woman who had MS. Symptoms started with her falling & dropping things & then speech left.

      • sunshine616 says:

Also she was one of the only people with sunglasses on at the event. I have to wear sunglasses all the time when my eyes start to go. Any kind of light makes it hard to focus. I really don’t think it’s pneumonia.

PBS is re-airing this 2002 Frontline program about John O’Neill. If you have never seen it, it is still worth viewing now. Be prepared to weep.

    The Man Who Knew

    OCTOBER 3, 2002 // 01:26:51

As an FBI agent who specialized in counter-terrorism, John P. O’Neill investigated the bombing of the American embassies in Africa, the USS Cole in Yemen, the Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia, and the first attack on the World Trade Center. O’Neill came to believe America should kill Osama bin Laden before Al Qaeda launched a devastating attack, but his was often a lonely voice. A controversial figure inside the buttoned-down world of the FBI, he was forced out of the job he loved and entered the private sector – as director of security for the World Trade Center.

EXCLUSIVE: Donald Trump’s claim he got $150G in post-9/11 state funds for small businesses because he helped people in need is unfounded, docs show

    Cameron Joseph

    Updated: Saturday, September 10, 2016, 10:45 PM

Donald Trump’s tale about why he took $150,000 in 9/11 money is as tall as the Downtown skyscraper he says he used in recovery efforts, according to government records.

Though the billionaire presidential candidate has repeatedly suggested he got that money for helping others out after the attacks, documents obtained by the Daily News show that Trump’s account was just a huge lie.

Records from the Empire State Development Corp., which administered the recovery program, show that Trump’s company asked for those funds for “rent loss,” “cleanup” and “repair” — not to recuperate money lost in helping people.

That government program was designed to help local businesses get back on their feet — not reimburse people for their charitable work………………………..

Luvvie has commented on the First Couple’s Essence Cover:

So FLOTUS and POTUS Are Just Gonna Steal My Heart on the Cover of ESSENCE. Ok.
    Awesomely Luvvie — September 8, 2016 9 17

Listen here. I’m already in my feelings about a variety of things. And then ESSENCE Magazine came and dropped their latest cover, featuring President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. Now I don’t know how to act because the 21st Century Love Jones couple got me all verklempt from their beauty.

Behold. Malia and Sasha’s parents. Michelle LaVaughn and Barack Hussein. Looking like excellence and the reason for terrible artwork you see at the dollar store. Or on an “arabesque” novel.” Out here looking like the ONLY time I’d say “relationship goals.”

I wanna write a sappy poem about them. The type of poem where I will have to wear a black turtleneck and beat on bongos. And make every single sentence rhyme and when I can’t find a word to rhyme with a previous sentence, I just repeat it slowly. And people would snap their fingers to agree. I’d sway behind a lit candle and Periscope all of it. And I’d sell kente oil afterwards to the crowd: because come up.

LAWD this picture, yo. COME ON, BEAUTIFUL BLACK. Just… comme des fackons, FLOTUS and POTUS. Her hair is laid (by the hands of the gifted Johnny Wright) and his lining is crisp. His barber never disappoints. You ain’t gon catch Barack outchea with anything but a glorious cut.

    • Liza says:

Truth. It seems that the stories of just about all the victims have gotten lost in the aftermath, the Bush Administration’s response to 9/11, the so called War on Terror, the long war in Afghanistan and the unjustified 2003 invasion of Iraq. Looking back, it is incomprehensible, yet it all happened. And the fallout from all of that isn’t over, and probably never will be.

The 9/11 terrorist attack on America changed the world, to be sure. With so much destruction and loss of life in the aftermath, it does seem that all the victims, including the nearly 3,000 American civilians, have become statistics except to their families and friends.

      This needs to change.

  11. She’s ready for the game!

  12. Ametia says:

The media is trying to illicit sympathy for Clinton with this lame coverage. SO TRANSPARENT.

    • Liza says:

Well, that will surely backfire. I would bet that HRC wants this story to go away right now as Trump supporters have tried to make her “health” an issue for quite awhile.
These claims have been bolstered by recent pictures where she looks very run down and videos of her coughing, etc… I’ve always thought her ship sailed and this wasn’t right for her and it certainly isn’t good for the country. But here we are.

  13. Ametia says:

So cable is going to use Clinton’s over-heating at 9111 a breaking news decoy for the rest of the day now?

    • Liza says:

I don’t know what these people hope to accomplish by use of these intimidation tactics. Amy Goodman doesn’t scare this easy.

      • Ametia says:

Amy Goodman is being used to set the example for the lame, cowardly reporters on the other networks who are doing the bidding for their CORPORATE MASTERS.

So transparent, using the same fear-based, ugly, violent tactics against the American people to get what they want- PROFITS.

The irony of it all, to cover 911 every year, to remind us of the ugly arab & Muslims who attacked and killed Americans on our soil.

But please, don’t cover Detroit lead-poisoning and oil pipelines that attack our bodies, make us sick and KILL US.

    • Ametia says:

What are the REASONS for the charges against Goodman?

      • Liza says:

This is intended to keep msm journalists away, as if any of them would report on this anyhow. But Amy’s reporting has reached msm news outlets so they want to plug this hole. I suspect all they’ve done is made her mad at them.

        Evil, just pure evil.
