An assassination squad of 15 men disembarked two charter planes in the Turkish city of Istanbul Tuesday on the orders of the Saudi royal court. After checking in to two hotels, the men laid in wait until Saudi journalist and dissident Jamal Khashoggi entered the Saudi consulate, where they killed him and then dismembered him with a bone saw. The assassins then left the country, flying to Cairo and Dubai.
That is the astonishing account of Khashoggi’s disappearance given by Turkish officials to The New York Times and The Washington Post Tuesday.
One official, who likened the incident to a scene from “Pulp Fiction,” said Turkish authorities have a video of Khashoggi’s murder.
That claim was backed up by Kemal Ozturk, a columnist in a pro-government newspaper, who told a pro-government TV network Tuesday: “There is a video of the moment of him being killed.”
Turkish authorities released pictures of 15 men they accuse of being part of a Saudi team
Turkish authorities came to the conclusion on Saturday that Khashoggi was murdered inside the embassy — four days after he disappeared — and informed President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of their suspicions on the same day.
Erdogan has reportedly ordered government officials to brief media outlets on the killing, though none have spoken on the record and Erdogan has not publicly accused Riyadh of the assassination.
A critic of the Saudi regime who lived in fear of retribution from Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, Khashoggi went missing after entering the consulate on Oct. 2 to get documents for his upcoming marriage. His fiancée, Hatice Cengiz, waited outside for him to come out, but he never did.
A Turkish television station broadcast CCTV footage Tuesday showing Khashoggi entering the embassy. Shortly after, a black van was seen driving away from the consulate to the consul’s home a mile away. The vehicle was then parked in a garage.
Further camera footage broadcast Wednesday showed the 15 men entering Istanbul airport, checking into the hotel and leaving the country hours later.
The pro-Erdogan Sabah newspaper published images Wednesday alongside the names of the “assassination squad.” Salah Muhammed Al-Tubaigy, one of the men named, is head of forensic evidence at the Saudi General Security Department.

Thanks for reporting this, SG2. I was hoping Ziegler’s lying *ss would be found guilty. I watched the video clip. I saw him aim and shoot at the young man. He told law enforcement that the shotgun went off accidentally. The video indicated to me that he was thinking about shooting at Brennan Walker a second time after he missed hitting him with the first shot. His wife got her ratchet *ss on the stand and tried to justify her hubby’s actions by saying the child tried to enter their home and saying he didn’t look like an adolescent but a huge black male. I didn’t see that in the video. Brennan knocked and waited for someone to answer the door. At no time did the video show him trying to force his way into the Ziegler home. Jeffrey Ziegler has his highly emotional, fear-filled, lame *ss wife to thank for the time he will spend in prison. I also do not believe Ziegler would have driven Brennan to school if he had answered the door and spoken with him because it’s obvious to me that Ziegler and his wife view being a black male as a major threat.

McConnell Warns Of ‘Scary Prospect’ If GOP Loses Senate Control In Midterms
October 11, 20185:39 PM ET
Heard on All Things Considered
SNELL: There was a talk at one point in time about, you know, dissecting where these losses were happening for Republicans, particularly in the Hispanic community. Is it time for that to happen again?
MCCONNELL: Well, I don’t think there’s any question that we would like to be doing better than we are with Hispanic Americans, although some of the most prominent Hispanic politicians in America happen to be Republicans. With regard to women voters, we’ve always had something of a gender gap. It’s never been as wide as it is now. We have two great women running for the Senate this year, Marsha Blackburn in Tennessee and Martha McSally in Arizona.
I think we can improve our position with women voters and with Hispanic voters for sure. With African-Americans, we haven’t been able to make much headway, although I think it is noteworthy that Tim Scott is a member of our conference. And he’s the – arguably the most popular politician in South Carolina. So there is hope with African-American voters as well. But I’m more optimistic about closing the gender gap and by improving our position with Hispanics.

Democratic aide arrested advocating for voting rights in Texas
Rachel Maddow reviews the history of voting rights battles at Prairie View A&M University in Waller County, Texas, and talks with Mike Siegel, Texas Democratic congressional candidate, and Jacob Aronowitz, Siegel’s campaign field director, about Aronowitz’s arrest after delivering a letter of support for voting rights at the school on Siegel’s behalf.

What ticks me off are the farmers in the Midwest who are still supporting Trump as they are watching their sales decrease. They’re Trump’s tools. They don’t even seem to realize that Trump cares about no one’s financial health except his own. The so-called Evangelicals are going to get hurt bad by Trump, and I have no sympathy for them because after all, it’s what they voted for.
