Second, the time point examined was ~60 days after onset of symptoms, and patients "were offered a comprehensive medical assessment with detailed history and physical examination." So not only self-report of symptoms; makes it more rigorous & repeatable. /3

Rev C.T. Vivian died at home in Atlanta of natural causes Friday morning at the age of 95
President Barack Obama honored Vivian the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2013
Vivian met Martin Luther King Jr. soon after the budding civil rights leader’s victory in the 1955 Montgomery Bus Boycott.
Under King’s leadership at SCLC, Vivian was national director of affiliates, traveling around the South to register voters
In 1965 in Selma, he was met on the Dallas County courthouse by Sheriff Jim Clark, who punched him in the mouth as he tried to register black voters
Vivian had a stroke about two months ago
