Over on TikTok, there is a food reviewer named Keith Lee.
Keith goes around to unknown places, eats their food, and gives reviews.
Now, you might be like..OK…so, why should I know about him?
Because, Keith Lee has 15 million followers on TikTok.
If a place gets a good review, they will experience what is called
” The Keith Lee Effect”
By the next day, there will be people out the door to try the food.
Seen it happen time, after time.
There are a lot of foodies out here, and we love discovering new places with good food that only need the right marketing.
When Keith comes to these places, he usually leaves a large tip, and makes very clear how the tip is to be used.
Some is for the restaurant. Some for workers. He will usually pay for free food for a certain amount. If you’ve followed Keith, you’ve seen him do this over and over. He’s all about sharing his blessings with others.
The thing is, Keith does all these blessings on camera. So, not only does the person owning the food place know what Keith wants, but, so do his millions of followers.
This was working. Seemed as if the restauranteurs understood this.
I mean, how could you not. If you are lobbying, and sending Keith DM’s to come visit your restaurant, then you should be fully aware of how the process goes.
All was well, until this current trip to Dallas.
Keith reviewed a food truck.
Liked the food.
Keith left the following:
$2000 tip for the owner
$1000 for one of the SM people who had asked him to come, and was working at the truck.
$1000 for a barber who was cutting hair near the truck
Almost $1000 so that everyone could eat free until the money ran out.
This was very clear. Anyone watching the video would be clear as to Keith’s wishes for the funds.
So, why did the food truck owner pocket all the money for herself?
How could you fumble a Keith Lee Effect Blessing over what is basically pennies?
I can’t get past that silly food truck owner whose greed blocked her from receiving a Keith Lee blessing.
Not only did she take the $$$ that Keith had left for those other people.
Keith left nearly $1000 for her to give free food to the customers. She gave free meals to THREE people, before started charging people.
So, she was just shady all the way.
Saw her on TikTok trying to blame KEITH for her greed.
No, M’am.
Not today.
I could maybe understand, if this was two years ago, before Keith really took off, and a business owner didn’t know what to expect.
But, in 2024?
And, you had people contacting Keith to come to your business?
You pull this nonsense?
Keith always does a 24 hour update, just in case his viewers didn’t see the original video.
And, now, I see local newscasts covering Keith’s visits to the city and where he went – so, you get THAT exposure.
She threw all of that away for $5000?
Absolutely absurd.
I do think she will be THE cautionary tale for future business owners who might have it in the back of their mind to be ‘ slick’. The internet is going to hold this woman accountable, and she’s going to learn that you don’t block other people’s blessings, even if you want to block your own.
