Maybe this is obvious, but I see few people saying it: the rise of Trumpism/MAGA-fascism, combined with other factors, is correlated with what feels like an increase in a darker undercurrent of sexism. Not like the pure objectifying sexism of the 90s/2000s. It’s darker. Angrier.Magdi Jacobs (@magi_jay) posted at 1:02 PM on Sun, Dec 29, 2024:
I’m not sure how to describe it w/ regards to other periods I’ve lived through other than “angrier.” It was miserable to grow up a girl in the 90s/2000s b/c of the objectifying sexism. Men/boys could be quite callous about who girls/women were. Don’t want to say it was “ok.”Magdi Jacobs (@magi_jay) posted at 1:03 PM on Sun, Dec 29, 2024:
I mean, I was raped during this period. It wasn’t sunshine & roses, by any means. But I still think something is different now. There are sub-groups of American boys & men who are very angry at American girls & women.

I didn’t disagree with her.
Where do you think
‘ YOUR BODY, MY CHOICE’ comes from?
I’ve seen the articles about the ‘ loneliness epidemic’ of men.
We are at a point in society where it’s not enough for a man to have a job and he’ll automatically be rewarded with female companionship.
The argument about the man vs. bear , where women are willing to take their chances with the bear.
We have the Heritage Foundation putting out a paper where they say the answer to America’s Fertility issue is:
Greene and Burke believe education policy discourages Americans from starting families in favor of attending university and also suppresses religious beliefs that encourage high fertility rates.
While highlighting the benefits of higher education, the authors said, “Good things can become bad when pursued in excess.”
The trend of fewer children being born now means an increasingly elderly population with a reduced working-age demographic in the future. Experts have warned of a looming “silver tsunami” after U.S. Census Bureau figures suggested that by 2035 older adults will outnumber children—a first in American history.
‘Bad in excess’?
Da PHUCK?
Hungary and South Korea have both “offered very generous government subsidies for families having children (…) [but] these large expenditures clearly haven’t helped.” Americans had more children in the past when “people had significantly less money than they do now,” they added.
“The best way to promote fertility isn’t funding parenthood. It’s stopping the government programs that discourage people from having babies,” the authors wrote.Education was the prime example of this, they suggested, arguing that “current education policies push people to delay having families until they are much older and impose barriers to accessing religious education, both of which significantly reduce fertility rates.”
Young people are pushed toward university due to “enormous incentives” and “highly subsidized student loans.” This has “created an artificially extended adolescence for the bulk of American young people.”
The more educated the woman, the older she is when she begins to have children, the authors said. Some 21.8 percent of women with a bachelor’s or higher degree will never have any children at all, Greene and Burke wrote.
“Education policy also suppresses fertility by discouraging parents from choosing religious education in K-12 schools,” they said, noting, “Adults who are more strongly attached to religion tend to have many more children.”
EDUCATION IS A PRIME EXAMPLE?
We can’t have women be educated…because, she can think for herself.
She delays marrying and childbearing, because she’s focused on education and then a career.
No, best to cut all that education and get women barefoot, pregnant, and homeschooling.
PHUCK OUTTA HERE!!
Men resent that they actually have to bring something to the table. Like a personality. If a woman doesn’t NEED you for survival, then she has to WANT to have you around.
As a man said in a video.
” Men have it all wrong. They aren’t competing against other men for a woman’s attention. They are competing against a woman’s PEACE.”
Yes, a woman’s peace.
The ability of a woman to craft a life for herself, full of meaning and substance – THAT DOESN’T CENTER AROUND MEN AND A RELATIONSHIP – is a threat to the White Christian Nationalism that the GOP is pushing. Instead of telling young men to work on themselves, to develop a personality so that they will be interesting, and attractive to women….
they aren’t doing it.
Women on these dating apps aren’t choosing men who admit that they are conservative. And, the men are whining.
” It’s just politics.”
No. It’s about values.
Why should a woman be with a man who doesn’t respect the fundamentals about a woman controlling her own bodily autonomy?
Then, they have the nerve to romanticize our grandmother’s marriages.
‘ That’s a REAL woman. They don’t make them like that anymore. SHE understood loyalty, and sticking through .”
No. Grandma wasn’t a real woman. Grandma was trapped.
Grandma probably got married WHEN SHE WAS A TEENAGER – A CHILD.
Grandma had no rights.
Grandma couldn’t get a job.
Grandma couldn’t buy property.
Grandma couldn’t even get a bank account or a credit card – WITHOUT HER HUSBAND’S PERMISSION.
GRANDMA WAS TRAPPED.
The disconnect is so real. They’re talking and waxing poetically about Grandma.
GRANDMA IS THE ONE WHO INSTILLED IN US FROM PRACTICALLY THE DAY WE WERE BORN THAT WE NEEDED TO GO OUT AND GET OUR OWN.
Grandma and those Elder ladies in the community, are the ones who pushed the girls to
‘Get that education’
‘Get that career’
‘Travel for yourself’
All the time.
Women who didn’t have choices, had to put up with a lot of shyt.
Women who can feed themselves, do not.
My mother and her three sisters, all had failed first marriages. They were able to cut their losses because my Grandmother made sure that they were all EDUCATED before they got married. They were all employed and making their own money. So, when the time came that the marriage didn’t work for them, they knew that they could take care of themselves. You don’t have to stay in a bad situation, if you can make a way for yourself.
And, don’t let you be a CHILDLESS BY CHOICE woman. The anger that I see thrown at professional women who have decided to be CHILDLESS BY CHOICE, and THEN have the nerve to marry someone else who doesn’t want to have children? How dare these Double Income, No Kids people go out there and enjoy their lives.
There was real resentment towards Vice President Harris.
How dare she be a childless woman, who made the choices to value her career.
How dare she wait to find a man who could cherish her and love her.
Voting against her was a misogynistic way to ‘ humble her’.
The Gisèle Pelicot story from France was so frightening. So scary. It’s so dark and demented, and just pounces your SOUL…what that woman went through. The horror and the nightmares were orchestrated BY HER HUSBAND. I just shudder thinking about it.
And, once again…more proof for choosing the bear.
Then, depressingly, it was revealed that there was a online chat of 70.000 men…who shared stories, videos, tips of how they were sexually assaulting wives, and other family members.
70,000?
I can’t put into words how …the chills I got just reading the story……
I mean, the actual revulsion I felt, reading the story…
The bear.
The bear.
The bear.
I know that I tell young women all the time to get that education and work on themselves. Create a life for themselves. Nurture those friendships. Travel the world. They need to know themselves, before they settle down. And, if they don’t settle down, it won’t be the worst thing in the world. Protect your womb. That there are men out here, who want to derail your lives by getting you pregnant. And, especially if you live in one of those Red States. You best put an iron grip on your womb, because they want to force you to have a baby you don’t want.
Young women…protect yourselves.

BREAKING: Donald Trump’s nominee for Attorney General is rocked by bombshell bad news as a report from the NAACP reveals that she has a history of “undermining” voting rights.
And it gets so much worse…
Pam Bondi, the blatantly corrupt woman who Trump wants the lead the Department of Justice, previously served as Florida’s Attorney General and as the chair of the far-right America First Policy Institute. The report says that the work she did in both positions makes her “unfit” to serve as AG.
“Ms. Bondi has a record of limiting voting rights, baselessly undermining faith in U.S. elections, and encouraging politically motivated prosecutions as an act of vengeance,” the report states.
“By contrast, DOJ has historically played a vital role in protecting the right to vote, a function that has become even more important in a post-Shelby County v. Holder era in which there has been a widespread effort across the country, particularly in the South, to limit the voting rights of Black communities and other communities of color,” it goes on.
“DOJ has also been central to the federal government’s efforts to ensure free and fair elections and to the upholding the principle of equal justice under law,” it continues.
While serving as Florida attorney general she was on the state clemency board where she abused her position and “used unfettered discretion to deny formerly incarcerated individuals the right to vote.”
On top of that, Bondi worked up a new law that required Floridians to wait at least five years before they could even request to have their rights restored — a transparent effort to disenfranchise voters to help Republicans.
As a result, Black Floridians of voting age were disproportionately adversely affected, with 25% of them ending up disenfranchised.
“Ms. Bondi’s record of actively seeking to limit voting rights, coupled with her attempts to undermine the integrity of our elections by supporting President-Elect Trump’s baseless claims that the 2020 election was stolen, should raise grave concerns among Senators who will be tasked with considering her nomination,” the report reads.
And it somehow gets even worse…
Bondi also backed the false claims that Trump won the 2020 election, going so far as to represent a member of the Fulton County Board of Election and arguing that the election could be decertified based on the “mere suspicion of voter fraud.”
The report concludes by bluntly stating that Bondi is “wholly unfit to lead the Justice Department and poses a threat to the independence and integrity of this critical agency.”
We couldn’t agree more. If confirmed, Bondi would be the least qualified, most corrupt Attorney General in American history.

The TikTok ban…
TikTok is not perfect…lots of problems…
But, it’s intellectual property, which is its algorithm…
The USA only accounts for 9% of its total viewership..
Why would I give up my intellectual property, when I can keep 91% of my total viewership…and my intellectual property..
As someone said…
This isn’t about National Security…
We would be talked about a TikTok BAN – period, with nothing else.
The TELL is the SALE…..
TikTok is so bad….but, wouldn’t be bad IF IT WAS SOLD.
Sold without its algorithm?
That would mean that it’s garbage.
No, the tell is the SALE.
The SALE that will purchase THE DATA OF THE 170 MILLION AMERICANS THAT HAVE USED TIKTOK.
THEY WANT THE DATA.
Zuckerberg couldn’t create anything to compete directly effectively with TikTok, so he lobbies to get it banned.
The TIKTOK SHOP is a direct threat to Amazon.
IF they were honest, then maybe the people wouldn’t be as angry. It’s lying and playing in their faces, which adds to the anger of the TikTok users.
I only lurk on TikTok. I have never made a video.
When people say that they have been able to use making content to supplement their lives…I didn’t grasp it, but a young lady gave an example yesterday. She is on Instagram Reels and TikTok.
She made and published the same videos on both sites in November.
She showed her checks from each for the SAME VIDEOS, DURING THE SAME TIME FRAME
There was 100,000 view difference between Instagram Reels and TikTok.
Instagram Reels was like 1.9 million
TikTok was like 2.0 million.
Only 100,000 difference in views.
Her paychecks for that month?
From Instagram Reels. $6.00
From TikTok: $3,227
That blew my phucking mind. And, like, she’s not a huge account. She has a niche that she’s settled into.
It was explained that you don’t make money on Instagram unless you get ‘ brand deals’.
While the average content creator on TikTok can make some money if they find their niche and an audience.

There may come a time, perhaps in the not-too-distant future, when the most economically productive states in the Union will be forced to decide whether it makes sense to continue an arrangement that leaves them at the mercy of officials from states that eagerly accept their money, only to politicize emergency aid when it serves their political interests.
Why should California continue to underwrite federal largesse in states like Louisiana, when those who largely elect politicians like Mike Johnson not only harbor animosity toward California but also seem almost gleeful at its destruction by natural forces?
