One source has told me there is a bit of disarray among Maine GOP tonight, as they did not expect Planter to drop out.
The whisper in those circles is apparently that a group supporting the Collins campaign had *more* claims against Planter that came up during oppo research – they had intended to use them during the election cycle.
There is genuine concern about their ability to defeat a Dem candidate with both Mills and Planter not at the forefront.

But this is really dangerous because in the middle of all this stuff—and we can laugh about, you know, the Islamic Republic of Japan and all of that—but he made several statements about an ongoing war that the United States is losing. And no one’s even trying to pretend that they can make any sense of it.
And I’ll just add one last thing that you just brought up.
If this were any other president, this would be a national crisis. I mean, Joe Biden got somebody’s name wrong, and it was headlines. The president gets all kinds of things wrong, completely, you know, is out to lunch at an important NATO summit, and, you know, it’s Wednesday.

Elder Chavez carried his Special Immigrant Juvenile paperwork everywhere so nobody would mistake him for undocumented. He showed it to the Alabama officer who pulled him over for speeding. The officer’s answer was “your papers are of no use to me.”
Six months later he is still in a Louisiana detention center, missed his junior year finals, missed his nephew being born, and gives haircuts for a dollar a day to pass the time. He is appealing his deportation order from inside a facility where the Inspector General found leaking ceilings and a guard who put a detainee in a chokehold.
Congress built the Special Immigrant Juvenile program on more than two decades of bipartisan agreement that abandoned kids need protection while their case moves through the system. That protection did not fail Chavez by accident. It was removed on purpose, and ProPublica’s numbers show the removal working exactly as designed… three times the detentions, four times the deportation orders, compared to Trump’s first term.

He was always going to lose because people with jobs don’t pay attention to elections until it’s time for the general. Platner’s polls went from D+8 to dead even within two weeks of his nomination and that was a month before the rape allegations dropped. He would have lost by 20 because support for him was in a tailspin the second normal humans started paying attention. He was literally out of money. His donations vanished after the primary.
America’s problem is that primary voters are pathetic fucking low-IQ incel freaks who have never seen the genitalia of the opposite sex in person and saddle those of us with jobs, friends, and families we care about with terrible extremist candidates year in and year out. The brothers barred from serving as corporate officers and directors because of fraud are white men. Their father, a white man convicted on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records to conceal a hush-money scheme, has since pardoned dozens of other white men convicted of fraud.
Fraud has no race. Criminality has no gender.
If accountability is the standard, apply it consistently. If race only matters when it’s used as a dog whistle to paint Black people as uniquely criminal, despite facts that undermine that narrative—then it was never about justice. It has always been about perpetuating racial division.

It explains IMO why Democrats today are going to continue to lose if they don’t get their act together.
Jasmine Crockett explained by focusing on getting people out for the down ballot races they’re going to be more likely to vote for the top of the ticket races.
If Jasmine Crockett can get Rakim and Nikisha to come out and vote for Clerk of the Wills, they’re likely going to stick around and vote for Governor, Senator etc.
Jasmine Crockett had nearly a million Black voters come out during the primary to vote for her and she figures if she can get those people to come out and vote for county supervisor, commissioner of the revenue, dog catcher etc they’re gonna stick around and vote for Talarico.
White Democrats don’t want to hear this. They think “Jasmine Crockett had nearly a million Black voters come out for her so she needs to be heavily campaigning for James Talarico and telling The Blacks they need to vote for Talarico.”
That’s not how that works.
White Democrats don’t care about dog catcher, commissioner of the revenue, school board or clerk of the wills. They only want the shiny prize at the top.
That’s the wrong road because MAGA cares about school board, county supervisor, commissioner of the revenue etc.
Here’s the deal: Democratic consultants do not care about county dog catcher or clerk of the wills because there’s no money in that.
Republican consultants know clerk of the wills and county dog catcher is where the power comes from.

BREAKING: in June 2026, *every single one* of the 1,062 refugees admitted in the U.S. were white South Africans.
In FY 2026, the U.S. has admitted a total of 7,727 white South Africans, three Afghans (back in November), and nobody else.
For reference, the U.S. admitted 100,060 refugees in 2024.
