Total local property tax levies in Texas have increased by approximately $37 billion since Abbott took office in 2015. In 2015, total property taxes collected statewide by local entities were $52.4 billion. By 2025, that total grew to roughly $89.4 billion…

He owns it and the reason we pay more and get less in Texas is because we’re all paying the Greg Abbott corruption tax,” she said. “He has given $1 billion in no bid contracts to his donors. The new WSJ report on John Fetterman is absolutely brutal:
– Canceled on 3 paralyzed veterans who traveled to DC to discuss their care, then showed up less than an hour later for a Fox News interview
– Reportedly refused meetings with constituents and lawmakers, including Pennsylvanians seeking help on Medicaid, homelessness and flood relief
– Asked why he had to meet with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, then reportedly said they “just want free trips to DC”
– Skipped 11 of 12 full committee hearings during one stretch
– Later had aides help ensure he was marked “present” at hearings even when he reportedly stayed for a minute or less
– Backed out of a funeral for 3 slain police officers after learning it would last three hours, responding: “3 hours??”
– Stopped regularly attending caucus meetings
– Told Israel’s ambassador he would write an op-ed based on points the ambassador sent over. Embassy staff later sent drafted talking points, but Fetterman’s own staff withheld them over concerns about potential Foreign Agents Registration Act issues
– Former staffers say he increasingly prioritized conservative media appearances and Israel advocacy over basic Senate work

His name is Nolan Xavier Wells. He was an eighteen-year-old Southwest Mississippi Community College student and athlete, described by those who knew him as “an extremely kind young man who was always willing to uplift others.”
Nolan was reported missing by his mother on July 4th after he failed to return home from a boat trip with “friends” to Horn Island in Mississippi. Two days later his lifeless body was discovered in the water just offshore at the northwestern tip of the island.
According to reports, Wells was with a young lady on the island prior to his disappearance. She has been in contact with Nolan’s family to share what she knows but has no insight into what occurred after going their separate ways.
Despite claims from his companions that Nolan stayed behind to catch a different ride back, their story contradicts a glaring detail: his cellphone was on the boat that departed without him.
Community outrage and online discussions indicate the young men on the boat trip hired legal counsel and ceased communicating after a body was recovered. Skepticism is fueled by allegations that at least one of the teens on the trip is the child of a local judge. Civil rights attorney Ben Crump is representing the family of Nolan Wells.
Investigators are still processing evidence to reconstruct the events leading up to Wells’ disappearance. However, one stark reality is clear: every white person returned home safely, while the only Black member of the group lost his life. We will not rest until the complete truth of what happened to Nolan on Horn Island is revealed.

Longtime “SportsCenter” anchor Linda Cohn questioned whether A’ja Wilson has some level of insecurity toward Caitlin Clark and whether that could be a reason she isn’t playing in the FIBA World Cup.
And I guess the question we have is: What exactly would A’ja Wilson be insecure about?
Is it basketball-related? It can’t be. Caitlin Clark is a zero-time champion at the high school, collegiate and, currently, WNBA level. Wilson is a high school state champion, led South Carolina to its first national championship and helped build a dynasty with the Las Vegas Aces, where she has won three WNBA championships. Oh, and she’s the only player in league history with four MVPs.
So clearly, it isn’t about basketball accomplishments. Are we talking about off the court? That doesn’t make much sense either. Clark’s most notable appearances away from basketball have largely involved golf. Not exactly sure why that would be something Wilson is sitting around feeling insecure about.
So is it the fans and attention? When you look at the fans Clark has, who exactly would want that? And obviously Wilson isn’t going to receive the exact same type of attention Clark does. She has never been pushed and pumped by the media at the rate Clark has, nor has she ever found herself at the center of the type of racially charged rivalry that has followed Clark throughout her professional career.
It’s a disservice to Caitlin Clark when so much of the conversation surrounding her relies on tearing down other players.
And it’s incredibly disrespectful to players like Wilson when trusted sports-media figures throw around narratives like this about someone who has spent years building one of the greatest résumés in basketball. It only adds fuel to the baseless jealousy narrative and gives Clark’s fans more red meat to feed off of, reinforcing this idea that Clark is somehow a damsel in distress who needs to be defended from other players. That, in turn, creates even more hostility toward players who are portrayed as jealous, bitter or somehow threatened by her when there is no actual basis for those claims.
Eventually, you start to realize that there are far too many paid fans disguised as media members.
At some point, a line has to be drawn. Enough is enough.
