Tuesday, November 8 Ohioans will vote to repeal Senate bill 5., because Ohioans, ya know have gotten their wake up call and their Governor John Kasich and his GOP pals are in for a REAL fight next week.
The bill was passed last March. SB 5 was designed to restrict collective bargaining by state employees has narrowly passed in the Ohio Senate.

Andy Douglas added, “I’m a Republican and I’ve been working side by side with independents and Democrats to see that this bad bill does not become law.” He told Ohioans that “Senate Bill 5 must be rejected” to stop “politicians who would turn back the clock on public safety and on those who protect and serve us.”
Let’s keep our eyes on Ohio. It’s important in the general election and it is a SWING STATE.
Obama And Biden Congratulate The People of Ohio On Their Issue 2 Win

Tonight both the White House and Vice President Biden issued statements congratulating the people of Ohio for standing up for workers.

The White House said, “The President congratulates the people of Ohio for standing up for workers and defeating efforts to strip away collective bargaining rights, and commends the teachers, firefighters, nurses, police officers and other workers who took a stand to defend those rights.

All these crazy bullshit initiatives and amendments have been REJECTED. Now the voters in these states better act like they’ve recovered the gray matter in their brains and stop voting against their own interest and those that sat out in 2010 get off their asses and vote in 2012.
Ohio voters will overturn a law signed last year that limited collective bargaining rights for public workers, CNN projects.
With 28% of precincts reporting, 62% voted for repealing the law and 38% against it, according to the Ohio secretary of state’s office.
The Republican-controlled legislature approved the bill, and Republican Gov. John Kasich signed it into law earlier this year. But opponents mounted a petition drive to get a repeal measure placed on the November ballot.
The measure was seen as a barometer for next year’s general election in the key battleground state.
Repealing the anti-union law is seen as a victory for Democrats. But another measure on the Ohio ballot that would exempt Ohio residents from the compulsory health care mandate under President Obama’s health care reform law is projected to pass. Since the law is a federal one, the state referendum is seen as a protest vote.

SB 5 ISSUE 2 limits collective bargaining for public employee unions. That means police officers, firefighters, teachers, and other state employees cannot negotiate for their wages, ( your taxes are used for this, with unemployment so high, we are not taking in the income to support such a measure) though they can still bargain for some benefits. (private sector workers cannot) It also contains an array of changes to Ohio’s current laws, including many changes affecting teachers and school districts. I’m voting YES. I see no need for the public employees to continue to be able to bargain for wages….no one is losing their job, the ads on TV are full of YOU KNOW WHAT! (Issue 1 deals with a constitutional amendment increasing the age limit for judges; (I’m no fan of increasing the age limit for judges, get your old tired butt outta there!!! Issue 3 is on a constitutional amendment barring laws that require anyone to participate in a health-care system.)….it aint just about public employees…. we the people got screwed by by both sides lumping the Teachers and others in with the Fire/Police (who deserve more) the others do not. Scrap the Bill and separate them out!

Roosevelt (The most liberal President of ALL TIME) wrote in 1937 to the National Federation of Federal Employees. Yes, public workers may demand fair treatment, wrote Roosevelt. But, he wrote, “I want to emphasize my conviction that militant tactics have no place” in the public sector. “A strike of public employees manifests nothing less than an intent on their part to prevent or obstruct the operations of Government, sounds like HIlter, eh?
