The BPD report thread is up! Let’s rip a NEW ONE, folks!

  3. Ametia says:

Why would any of us believe that the BPD investigating THEMSELVES would present any finding to IMPLICATE any wrong doing. Excuse me, that’s too light a phrase.

    BRUTALITY & MURDER!

WTF IS THIS? Meaning that videotape won’t be used, if any of these evil murdering cowards are indicted?

UPDATE: Law enforcement sources say Freddie Gray suffered head injury in police transport van

    Updated: April 30, 2015 – 04:32 pm

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJLA) — An investigation into the death of Baltimore resident Freddie Gray has found no evidence that his fatal injuries were caused during the videotaped arrest and interaction with police officers, according to multiple law enforcement sources.

    • Ametia says:

NO WAY. Let’s see we have conceal & carry for guns, but now conceal and carry for knives I punishable by SEVERED SPINES & DEATH.?

    • yahtzeebutterfly says:

They did not even see the knife when they started chasing him. Therefore, they had NO justification for chasing him.

They are grasping at straws to no avail.

The police need to ‘fess up and face the penalty for their heinous deed. Freddie Gray had his life cruelly stolen from him.

    • Liza says:

Does Lt. Brian Rice have X-Ray vision and saw the “switchblade” through Freddie Gray’s clothing? Is that why he chased him down? I seem to recall the Gray family’s lawyer saying that FG carried a pocket knife.

      • Ametia says:

We know those WaPo leaks were intentional. They’re dripping the lies out one drop at a time, and are waiting for the Gray family attorneys to get on TEE VEE & rebut them so they can come back with another LIE

        WASH, RINSE, REPEAT!

I believe that was the mistake that Ben Crump made, These attorneys need to stay off the fucking TV and build their case!

      • Liza says:

Good point. Give them nothing and let them just keep digging a deeper hole.

Baltimore adds drama to GOP cuts for urban renewal programs
By David Rogers 4/30/15 11:17 AM EDT

With Baltimore’s troubles as a backdrop, House Republicans are proposing new cuts from urban programs this week even as their budget would add tens of billions of dollars for the Pentagon to get around strict spending caps.

Caught most in the middle is a $55.3 billion housing and transportation measure which is fast becoming the new ground zero in the appropriations wars this summer and a symbol of Washington’s retreat from public investments in poor urban neighborhoods like Baltimore’s.

The 156-page bill demands real cuts from a cross-section of urban programs in order to meet statutory spending targets. But just hours after it advanced Wednesday morning in the House Appropriations Committee, the GOP announced its new 2016 budget agreement which adds an extra $38 billion for defense by going around the very same caps which had earlier forced reductions in aid to cities.

Most simply, Republicans are proposing two sets of rules, one for defense and the other for domestic appropriations. And the resulting cuts resonate more now given the proximity of the crisis down the road in Baltimore.

Maryland lawmaker proposes law to take food stamps from families of kids who protest
    30 APR 2015 AT 11:27 ET

Republican Maryland state Delegate Patrick McDonough suggested this week that parents did not deserve to continue receiving food stamps if they refused to stop their children from protesting the death of Freddie Gray in Baltimore.

In audio obtain by First Look’s Lee Fang, a caller on a Baltimore radio program asks McDonough why the government could not “take away benefits from families, from like the parents who are collecting welfare” if the protesters were “too young.”

“That’s an idea and that could be legislation,” McDonough volunteers. “I think that you could make the case that there is a failure to do proper parenting and allowing this stuff to happen, is there an opportunity for a month to take away your food stamps?”

McDonough goes on to say that a “scientific study” is needed to understand the mindset of “thug nation.”

“These young people, they’re violent, they’re brutal, their mindset is dysfunctional to a point of being dangerous,” he says. “We have got to study, investigate, and really look at what this is all about.”

Why is America celebrating the beating of a black child?

A mom’s violence won’t keep her son safe.

THIS: “He gave me eye contact,” Toya Graham told CBS News. “And at that point, you know, not even thinking about cameras or anything like that — that’s my only son and at the end of the day, I don’t want him to be a Freddie Gray. Is he the perfect boy? No he’s not, but he’s mine.”

    This motherfucking right here!
In other words, Graham’s message to America is: I will teach my black son not to resist white supremacy so he can live.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2015/04/29/why-is-america-celebrating-the-beating-of-a-black-child/

    • Liza says:

What (white) America really should have learned from that video is that the mother was terrified of losing her son to the same violent, undeserved death that has befallen many a black person for the last 400 years. She just wanted to remove him from the line of fire. She was afraid. Period.

Leaked document blames Freddie Gray for his injuries
    04/30/15 08:00 AM
    By Steve Benen
The recent unrest in Baltimore is the result of many factors which stretch back generations, but the recent tumult is largely tied to the death of one man: Freddie Gray.

By now, the basic details are no doubt familiar: the 25-year-old Gray was arrested two weeks ago, reportedly on a weapons charge, and then died a week later. According to family attorneys, Gray’s death was the result of a severed spine, which local officials have not yet explained.

Last night, the Washington Post reported on a leaked document, written by a Baltimore police investigator, that takes the story in a rather striking direction.

A prisoner sharing a police transport van with Freddie Gray told investigators that he could hear Gray “banging against the walls” of the vehicle and believed that he “was intentionally trying to injure himself,” according to a police document obtained by The Washington Post.

The prisoner, who is currently in jail, was separated from Gray by a metal partition and could not see him. His statement is contained in an application for a search warrant, which is sealed by the court. The Post was given the document under the condition that the prisoner not be named because the person who provided it feared for the inmate’s safety.
Though the claims are extraordinarily hard to believe, this is the first tidbit of information the public has received from inside the official investigation into Gray’s death.

    • Liza says:

We knew that the cops were going to concoct a story that they think is good enough to plant the seed of reasonable doubt and exonerate the guilty cops. We just didn’t know that their lies would be this outrageous. But what is clear at this point is that the cops are not going to accept any responsibility and they will keep lying until this is resolved one way or the other. It’s really insane to go to these lengths just to save one cop who shouldn’t be a cop to begin with and deserves to be charge with murder.

  13. rikyrah says:

Baltimore: “Out of the 209 people who were arrested in Baltimore during the immediate hours after violence erupted in the city on Monday afternoon, 111 remain in jail without having been charged.”

This is on a whole new level of digging up ones past to excuse killer cops. They’re looking up previous CAR ACCIDENT injuries. #FreddieGray

    • Ametia says:

to justify their killings when they have NO CURRENT CHARGES, they dig up history. look see he’s a “THUG.”

      • sunshine616 says:

Does no one remember the violent history of police?? Shall we dig?? Can we get the officers names so we can do due diligence and look into their pasts and history???? Maybe they deserve to be arrested based on their past behavior. See how that works???

    • Ametia says:

if we actually could review the records of these killer cops, which some have all ready been exposed, we’ll see more of the same. domestic abuse charges, prior charges of police brutality uneducated, rednecks, NRA members.

    Once More, With Feeling

    Baltimore

I’ve gotten a lot of mail on Baltimore.

Why haven’t you said anything? When are you going to weigh in on this? Do you not care?

Baltimore is burning and why haven’t I said anything?

You don’t think there’s been enough self-serving gratuitous hand wringing, chest beating, and dick waggling on this subject?

    Really?

Because every network, every pundit, every politician has managed to find a way to profit from this latest round of violence. Every single one.

Before that, though, not one of them ever mentioned Baltimore. Not even me. Nobody gives a shit about Baltimore – not even Martin O’Malley and he used to run the place. But suddenly every media outlet has a truck in Baltimore, live on the scene and streaming the pictures into every living room in glorious High Definition and there you are, on the bloody mean streets of Baltimore.

Every presidential hopeful has something to say about Baltimore.

Every Senator and every Representative knows who to blame for Baltimore.

Every pundit is an authority on Baltimore.

And every American has picked a side in Baltimore.

And so, what? I should make some hay in Baltimore too? Sure, why shouldn’t I pander for donations and page views and “likes” built on the pain and misery of others?

So, what is it exactly that you’d like me to say?

I mean, what is there left to say?

You’re maybe expecting some pithy observation? Some special insight, right? Sorry, I’m fresh out.

We all, every single one of us whether we admit it or not, we all know what the deal is in Baltimore.

It’s the same all over America.

It’s the same all over the world in fact.

When people have nothing left to lose, when rage and hopelessness are the norm, when violence and poverty have become birthrights, when systematic disenfranchisement is the order of the day, then riot and destruction are always only seconds away. Always.

What we forget is this: When people have nothing left to lose, then the only thing left to them is rage.

  20. Whew Lawd! That lying woman saying Freddie Gray injured himself has no shame, no conscience. It’s disgusting beyond description.

  23. Ametia says:

What did the BPD promise this so-called phantom prisoner to LIE for them to help them make their case for reasonable doubt?

    • Liza says:

Why in the blazing hell don’t they just water board the whole lot of them? The six cops and their lying corroborator. Normally, I oppose torture but I could make an exception…

  24. Ametia says:

BPD comes up with a false witness & media helps them push the LIE.

DO NOT TRUST MAYOR SHARON RAWLINGS-BLAKE OR GOV. LARRY HOGAN, AND CERTAINLY NOT THAT BALTIMORE POLICE CHIEF ANTHONY BATTS.

So the Anointed One finally speaks…

    April 29, 2015
Hillary Clinton calls for changes to justice system

“We have to come to terms with some hard truths about race and justice in America,” Clinton said in her first policy speech as a candidate for president in 2016.

In her somber 30-minute remarks, Clinton described what she called the unfair treatment of black men in America, who are more likely to be stopped and searched by police, charged with crimes and sentenced to longer prison terms.

“We must urgently begin to rebuild the bonds of trust and respect among Americans,” said Clinton, delivering the keynote address at the David N. Dinkins Leadership and Public Policy Forum at Columbia University in New York.. “Between police and citizens, yes, but also across society.”
Clinton spoke about recent clashes in Ferguson, Mo.; Charleston, S.C., Cleveland, New York City and Baltimore, which continues to be gripped by violence after the death of a 25-year-old black man Freddie Gray from a spinal injury suffered while he was in police custody.

“What we’ve seen in Baltimore should, indeed does, tear at our soul,” he said. “And, from Ferguson to Staten Island to Baltimore, the patterns have become unmistakable and undeniable.”

“Yet again, the streets of an American city are marred by violence. By shattered glass and shouts of anger and shows of force,” she said. “Yet again a community is reeling, its fault lines laid bare and its bonds of trust and respect frayed. Yet again, brave police officers have been attacked in the line of duty.”

In her speech, which echoed Obama’s remarks Tuesday, she praised police officers who have been attacked and criticized protestors who she said are setting back the cause of justice.

      GO WAY HILLARY.JUST GO!

    • Liza says:

Hillary’s comments are lame. A perfect example of a politician between a rock and a hard place. She wants the black voters, so she can’t blatantly offend them. I don’t think she’s fool enough to think that black folks will turn out for her in droves because she’s the lesser of two evils. She also wants the white working class independents so, of course, she feels she has to praise the police and condemn the protesters. There’s no way for Hillary to say anything other than what other people are saying that doesn’t seem to get them into trouble.

I think it’s important to make her keep talking. Not because I think she will ever take a stand for what is right, because she won’t. She just wants to get elected. But if she’s talking it means that the momentum is building and the 2016 candidates will have this issue front and center and they will be forced to talk about it. And God knows they don’t want to.
