A grand jury in South Carolina has indicted former police officer Michael Slager for the murder of Walter Scott. In April, Slager shot Scott, an unarmed black man, eight times in the back following a routine traffic stop.
The police officer who fatally shot Walter Scott after a traffic stop in Charleston, South Carolina, has been indicted by a grand jury, according to the prosecutor’s office.
Today’s update came from the 9th Circuit Solicitor’s Office, which said it will be trying former North Charleston officer Michael Slager’s case.

Belated greetings to all. I hope SG2’s sister is doing OK and am glad that SG2 was not injured though I know that having a deer hitting your truck has to be terrifying.
And speaking of terrifying, while I’m glad at least one policeman will face indictment for the murder of Walter Scott, it seems there are plenty more out there who are willing to terrorize African American citizens (supported by white thugs, because, let’s face it, these egregious violations of African American rights would not be possible without the tacit and explicit support of white thugs). I can only echo the sadness and rage expressed in the thread below. The comments posted and tweets cited have expressed more eloquently than I can my outrage that African American children were manhandled, bullied, assaulted and threatened. My prayers go out to those children and their families, as well as to their white friends who stood up for their right to be there. I just don’t know what else to say.

Listen, Scarlett Wilson, Slager shooting Walter Scott in his back 9 times, is not the same as a ‘gangsta’ after robbing a bank and shooting from his get-a-way car.
