This affects 800,000 young people and their families.
You think that they care about destroying the lives of these young people and their families?
Look at the smirk on Attorney General White Citizens Council’s face.

In between his goddamn lies:
Attorney General Sessions said DACA "denied jobs to hundreds of thousands of Americans" by allowing DACA recipients "to take those jobs."

Tell us why, Joy Ann Reid…
Sessions has been dreaming of this moment for decades — the moment when he has the power to begin rolling back non-white immigration.

Listen to trump supporters defend DACA bigotry with words like "law and order" – same language used to defend Jim Crow

DACA is example 1 of why 44 wanted comprehensive immigration reform. He always wanted to go through the law. NEVER wanted it done through EO, because that was subject to the whim of whomever is President.
And now, some actually understand the depth of what having the RIGHT PRESIDENT means.
As a Mexican American, days like today remind me how some of us were so backwards in how we treated Obama over immigration. #DACA #DREAMers
12:58 PM – 5 Sep 2017This wasn’t our fault, but we can’t take our eyes off the ball ever again. That doesn’t mean we can’t hold Democrats accountable (we should)
But we can’t make the mistake of treating Democrats like enemy of our people. The Democratic Party is the party of immigrants.
When we treated Obama like he was doing the opposite of what he was doing, we were taking him for granted. #DACA #DREAMers
I understand why some of us were frustrated w/ Obama, but I didn’t agree then and I don’t agree now. Today demonstrates why. #DACA #DREAMers
Obama wasn’t telling us to “go slow”. With #DACA, he told #DREAMers to run thru. He said here… here’s an emergency solution right now.
Some of us who heckled and trolled him acted like he was kicking the can down the road and telling us to “go slow”. #DACA #DREAMers
In doing so, we ignored the fact that he was being held up by a racist opposition in Congress.
One that did everything to stunt progress because they were infuriated with his blackness.
When we ignored that (its own racial implications we have to deal with as a community), we ended up absolving the real enemy of our autonomy
Which has been and always has been the Republican Party. They oppose us because we reflect the future, which is less white…
We knew this. We still know this. Let’s be real. Obama wasn’t our enemy. The Democratic Party wasn’t our enemy
We can never let our guards down like that again. We can’t take progress for granted, even if it’s incremental and done as an emergency.
Obama had our back. So did Hillary. Then 30% of us voted for Trump… the man who called us murderers and rapists, and who ended #DACA today.
This has to be a wake up call.
A statement from President Obama about the end of DACA
Immigration can be a controversial topic. We all want safe, secure borders and a dynamic economy, and people of goodwill can have legitimate disagreements about how to fix our immigration system so that everybody plays by the rules.
But that’s not what the action that the White House took today is about. This is about young people who grew up in America – kids who study in our schools, young adults who are starting careers, patriots who pledge allegiance to our flag. These Dreamers are Americans in their hearts, in their minds, in every single way but one: on paper. They were brought to this country by their parents, sometimes even as infants. They may not know a country besides ours. They may not even know a language besides English. They often have no idea they’re undocumented until they apply for a job, or college, or a driver’s license.
Over the years, politicians of both parties have worked together to write legislation that would have told these young people – our young people – that if your parents brought you here as a child, if you’ve been here a certain number of years, and if you’re willing to go to college or serve in our military, then you’ll get a chance to stay and earn your citizenship. And for years while I was President, I asked Congress to send me such a bill.
That bill never came. And because it made no sense to expel talented, driven, patriotic young people from the only country they know solely because of the actions of their parents, my administration acted to lift the shadow of deportation from these young people, so that they could continue to contribute to our communities and our country. We did so based on the well-established legal principle of prosecutorial discretion, deployed by Democratic and Republican presidents alike, because our immigration enforcement agencies have limited resources, and it makes sense to focus those resources on those who come illegally to this country to do us harm. Deportations of criminals went up. Some 800,000 young people stepped forward, met rigorous requirements, and went through background checks. And America grew stronger as a result.
But today, that shadow has been cast over some of our best and brightest young people once again. To target these young people is wrong – because they have done nothing wrong. It is self-defeating – because they want to start new businesses, staff our labs, serve in our military, and otherwise contribute to the country we love. And it is cruel. What if our kid’s science teacher, or our friendly neighbor turns out to be a Dreamer? Where are we supposed to send her? To a country she doesn’t know or remember, with a language she may not even speak?
Let’s be clear: the action taken today isn’t required legally. It’s a political decision, and a moral question. Whatever concerns or complaints Americans may have about immigration in general, we shouldn’t threaten the future of this group of young people who are here through no fault of their own, who pose no threat, who are not taking away anything from the rest of us. They are that pitcher on our kid’s softball team, that first responder who helps out his community after a disaster, that cadet in ROTC who wants nothing more than to wear the uniform of the country that gave him a chance. Kicking them out won’t lower the unemployment rate, or lighten anyone’s taxes, or raise anybody’s wages.
It is precisely because this action is contrary to our spirit, and to common sense, that business leaders, faith leaders, economists, and Americans of all political stripes called on the administration not to do what it did today. And now that the White House has shifted its responsibility for these young people to Congress, it’s up to Members of Congress to protect these young people and our future. I’m heartened by those who’ve suggested that they should. And I join my voice with the majority of Americans who hope they step up and do it with a sense of moral urgency that matches the urgency these young people feel.
Ultimately, this is about basic decency. This is about whether we are a people who kick hopeful young strivers out of America, or whether we treat them the way we’d want our own kids to be treated. It’s about who we are as a people – and who we want to be.
What makes us American is not a question of what we look like, or where our names come from, or the way we pray. What makes us American is our fidelity to a set of ideals – that all of us are created equal; that all of us deserve the chance to make of our lives what we will; that all of us share an obligation to stand up, speak out, and secure our most cherished values for the next generation. That’s how America has traveled this far. That’s how, if we keep at it, we will ultimately reach that more perfect union.

New Clinton book blasts Sanders for ‘lasting damage’ in 2016 race
By Dan Merica, CNN
Updated 6:13 AM ET, Wed September 6, 2017
…
Clinton, in a book that will be released September 12 entitled “What Happened,” said Sanders “had to resort to innuendo and impugning my character” because the two Democrats “agreed on so much.”
…
“When I finally challenged Bernie during a debate to name a single time I changed a position or a vote because of a financial contribution, he couldn’t come up with anything,” Clinton wrote.
“Nonetheless, his attacks caused lasting damage, making it harder to unify progressives in the general election and paving the way for Trump’s ‘Crooked Hillary’ campaign.”
…
In her forthcoming book, Clinton noted that the Vermont independent “isn’t a Democrat.”
“That’s not a smear, that’s what he says,” she wrote. “He didn’t get into the race to make sure a Democrat won the White House, he got in to disrupt the Democratic Party.”
After outlining how she disagrees with Sanders’ view of the Democratic Party, Clinton concludes, “I am proud to be a Democrat and I wish Bernie were, too.”
Clinton wrote that President Barack Obama counseled her to “grit my teeth and lay off Bernie as much as I could,” according to the excerpts. That strategy, Clinton wrote, made her feel she was “in a straitjacket.”

Ha. I’m sure I’m not buying Clinton’s book, but it sounds like all it will do for her is remind people who dislike her why they dislike her.
I would imagine Hillary carries a heavy load watching Donald Trump destroy the country.
Or, maybe not. Maybe it’s all about her.
But this book sounds like classic Hillary. Pointing fingers and blaming everyone but herself.
I don’t recall Bernie Sanders attacking her and I sure as hell don’t recall ANYONE in any Democratic campaign treating her as badly as she treated President Obama in 2008. For crying out loud, mainstream media didn’t even cover Bernie’s campaign.
Will this woman ever shut up?
I agree. I’m so sick of this ISH. And you don’t hear a peep out of Bill going after Trump. He did PBO tho. Why? Mofo scared. Bill Clinton went after PBO after his 2008 election because he was mad as hell but not one word against Trump. Notice that?
Yeah, I have noticed that Bill has been really quiet.
The Democratic party is going to do a whole lot better when the leaders are more engaged with the people and actually represent them. And I hope that Hillary’s book falls on deaf ears.

15 states, DC sue Trump administration over ending DACA
By LARRY NEUMEISTER AND GENE JOHNSON, ASSOCIATED PRESS NEW YORK — Sep 6, 2017, 5:43 PM ET
The Associated Press
Fifteen states and the District of Columbia sued the U.S. government Wednesday to block President Donald Trump’s plan to end protection against deportation for young immigrants who New York’s attorney general labeled the “best of America.”
The lawsuit filed in federal court in Brooklyn asked a judge to strike down as unconstitutional the president’s action involving the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA.
It called the move “a culmination of President Trump’s oft-stated commitments … to punish and disparage people with Mexican roots.”
The attorneys general who brought the lawsuit — all Democrats — represent states where the population of DACA participants — known as “dreamers” — ranges from hundreds to tens of thousands. They were brought to the U.S. illegally as children or came with families who overstayed visas.
…
Under former President Barack Obama, Justice Department lawyers concluded in 2014 that DACA is lawful.
The lawsuit filed Wednesday says rescinding DACA will injure state-run colleges and universities, upset workplaces and damage companies and economies that include immigrants covered under the program.
…
Plaintiffs in the lawsuit are New York, Massachusetts, Washington, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Virginia.
California, one of the most solid Democratic states, was noticeably absent.
California Attorney General Xavier Becerra plans to file a separate lawsuit because a quarter of DACA recipients are California residents, his spokeswoman Bethany Lesser said.

Woo hoo, y’all. Fifteen states plus DC being led by New York State plus another lawsuit coming soon from the State of California.
We are not going back!
RESIST!
2018!
Good. Those 15 states are doing what is morally right.
It is cruel of Trump and Sessions to try to end DACA. The 800,000 individuals who would be affected only know the U.S.A as their country and English is their language.
You know, Liza, I was watching the James Baldwin documentary “I Am Not Your Negro” and was coming here to post what I just transcribed because of events like Charlottesville and this DACA issue. I think I’ll just post James Baldwin’s words here:
That’s an interesting question, Yahtzee. Exactly where would these young deportees be sent since they have no home other than in the US? I really don’t think it’s doable.

States file lawsuit challenging Trump decision on Dreamers
NEW YORK (Reuters) – Fifteen states and the District of Columbia filed a lawsuit on Wednesday challenging President Donald Trump’s decision to end protections and benefits for young people who were brought into the United States illegally as children.
The multistate lawsuit filed by a group of Democratic attorneys general on Wednesday to protect beneficiaries of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program argues their state economies will be hurt if residents lose their status.
The lawsuit seeks to block Trump’s decision and maintain DACA.
