Here’s some truth about the judge who acquitted Jason Stockley. Source is Facebook.

What he said: “Finally, the court observes, based on its nearly thirty years on the bench, that an urban heroin dealer not in possession of a firearm would be an anomaly.”
What I heard: “For 30 years I have adjudicated cases built on my racial bias and assumptions about people who live in my self defined urban core. I, alone, have decided their guilt or innocence based on what I believe to be true based not in facts, but in my deeply held erroneous beliefs of what it means to be black in America. I have sentenced people based on who I assume them to be. Therefore, a racist judge capable of delivering a just verdict based on law would be an anomaly and someone should probably check all of my cases because this time I let a killer cop go free but there have probably been more than a few times when I caged people unjustly.”
‘For first time in 300 years, there’s not a single living person on the island of Barbuda’
T.J. Raphael, Updated 12:30 p.m. ET Sept. 14, 2017
Barbuda has been left completely devastated by Hurricane Irma. An estimated 95% of Barbuda’s structures are damaged, and the entire island of around 1,800 people has been evacuated.
“The damage is complete,” says Ambassador Ronald Sanders, who has served as Antigua and Barbuda’s ambassador to the U.S. since 2015. “For the first time in 300 years, there’s not a single living person on the island of Barbuda — a civilization that has existed on that island for over 300 years has now been extinguished.”
According to Sanders, Irma was “the most ferocious, cruel and merciless storm” in the island’s history. The hurricane was 378 miles wide when it descended on Barbuda, which is just 62 square miles.
…
Evacuees from Barbuda were sent to Antigua, which did not suffer the same level of damage from Irma.

Misplaced comment.
I thought this was the open thread.
Video by The Atlantic
“The foundation of Trump’s presidency is the negation of Barack Obama’s legacy,” writes Ta-Nehisi Coates in his feature for The Atlantic’s October 2017 issue. In this animated excerpt from a recent interview with Coates about his article, the writer explains how tribalism and white supremacy paved the way for Trump. Gallup research shows that white voters overwhelmingly supported the candidate across demographics.
That Atlantic piece by Coates I a MUST READ.

Here’s the whole show, TNC starts at 17:45.
I watched this interview last night. The whole interview is really very good.
When TNC explains the title of his new book, “We were eight years in power”, it is heart wrenching.
It was quite sad. I didn’t know where the title had come from
I know that some people assumed it was about PBO’s eight year presidency. They are going to be surprised.
I was watching this, and thought that he was on point
