Open Thread | The Supreme Court Struck Down Roe vs Wade

I have been in my feelings since the right-wing Supreme Court decided to strike down Roe v Wade by allowing that egregious Texas law to take place. I remember all. I remember everything about 2016. I remember all the clowns who went around with their eleven billionty reasons as to why they couldn’t vote for Hillary Clinton.

I remember the ‘ lesser of two evils’ crowd.

I remember the ‘ no difference between them’ crowd.

I remember the ‘ EARN THIS VOTE’ crowd.

I remember all you muthaphuckas. Haven’t forgotten a one of you.

I remember how people on my side of the aisle told you, time and time again..

“ I don’t care how you feel about Hillary, you should vote for her because of the Supreme Court.”

And, I remember EXACTLY what the response was from many of these clowns.

“ You can’t scare me by using The Court. Stop trying to scare me. “

Oh….but, now, your hair is on fire, and we’re supposed to listen to you scream.

Then, there were those who poo-pooed us, because we were being ‘ hysterical’.

Yeah, I remember that too.

Then, there were those who said that our use of the Court to defend rights like ‘ Roe’ was nothing more than ‘ IDENTITY POLITICS’.

Yeah, I remember that too.

So, yes, I watched as the Twitter Streets brought forth all the receipts on you hoes.

They chose violence.

And, I was right there with them.

The nerve that you clowns were trying to lie about your positions in 2016, and then, have the nerve to talk about ‘ moving on from 2016.’.

No, Boo. We aren’t moving on from a goddamned thing.

You will accept responsibility for the consequences of your actions.

AND, you will step up to the phucking plate and get down in the trenches to actually FIGHT.

You DO understand that Texas is the first, but, not the last of those horrific laws to be enacted.

And, to the White women who couldn’t be bothered to vote for Hillary? This is most on you. At your doorstep. Your responsibility.

I did the right thing in 2016. My conscience is clear.

I am willing to do battle, because unlike others, I understand that other of my fellow citizens don’t have the privilege to try and survive this, and I must get out there and do what I can to help them.

The utter arrogance and gall to say that you ‘couldn’t be scared with The Court’, knowing that MILLIONS of people would have their lives impacted by reactionary decisions of The Court..but, you couldn’t be bothered to care for your fellow citizens. It just wasn’t important to you.

And, don’t think that those of us who did the right thing have ever looked at you and your selfishness in the same way since that time.

As for Hillary Clinton…

SHE.WAS.RIGHT.ABOUT.EVERYTHING.

EVERY.DAMN.THING.

She’s a far better person than me, because I would have written the book and entitled it – KISS MY AZZ. I TOLD YOU THIS WOULD HAPPEN.

I’m still not calm about this. Still not even remotely calm, because I know that it didn’t have to be.

Folks told you what was on the line in 2016. Your ignorance and stupidity and selfishness have now brought us here.

What I’m no longer entertaining…anyone claiming l need to do “outreach” to folks that voted 3rd party, voted GOP, or couldn’t be bothered to vote in 2016. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Organize, no excuses, vote the racists and anti-women’s rights folks out from bottom to top. If you don’t have a good candidate, run yourself!

Everything is connected, to be sure.

But I have no memory of the Democratic leadership raising bloody hell when McConnell stole the SCOTUS appointment from President Obama.

And why didn’t they raise hell? Because they believed Hillary was going to win in 2016 and Hillary would get the appointment or McConnell would accept Merrick Garland after the election that Hillary won. There was NO PLAN for the possibility that Trump would win.

And here’s another point I feel compelled to make.

The Democrats have got to STOP ramming their choices down our throats. Hillary Clinton was the choice of the Democratic leadership, it was her turn. She waited so long after losing the nomination in 2008 to PBO. Poor, long suffering Hillary.

People will protest, that’s just how they are. And they will not think through the long term consequences of NOT choosing the lesser of two evils.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but imagine an Al Gore presidency. Imagine having a president who actually understood the challenges of the 21st century. Imagine no 20 year war in Afghanistan and definitely no invasion of Iraq.

That’s right. No long term thinking in 2000, that’s for damn sure.

In 2018, I was forced to vote for and support Kyrsten Sinema because she was running against someone far worse. Kyrsten was the handpicked choice of Chuck Schumer who apparently believed she was the “one who could win.” Maricopa County progressives warned about her but no one listened.

Look at her now, the self-appointed, power-mongering, can’t-get-enough-attention Queen of the Senate. Biden’s agenda is in serious trouble because of her and Manchin, her DINO counterpart. Biden will be lucky to pass a compromised reconciliation bill and the door is closing on voting rights and police reform. I guess we’ll see.

But if I’m alive in 2024 and Sinema is trying to get re-elected, I cannot be shamed into voting for her again. Rather, I will support Rev Warnock and Tim Ryan in 2022. A Democratic majority is what is needed and the bad DINOs need to get voted out.
