What is a piece of black history do you wish more people knew?

Black American WWII vets being denied their GIBILL while the largest expansion of the middle class happened in the United States because white veterans were allowed to use theirs. And how that has stolen multigenerational wealth from Black Americans for generations.

Facts learned this in undergrad…allowed poor white soldiers to get a college education & buy homes which created suburbs & allowed them to pass these homes down to their children as assets, while Black soldiers received nothing

Almost posted without comment.

Over ONE MILLION BLACK GI’S were denied their GI Bill benefits, even after putting their lives on the line for this country.
The generational wealth lost for the Black community, actually can be measured, because we see, the actual benefits that have been bestowed upon those White GI’s and their descendants.

It’s not ‘ theoretical’, like the benefits of 246 years of free slave labor, and 100+ years of Jim Crow.
This happened in the 20th Century, and those benefits stolen can be measured.

    Y’all,

I can’t get past that silly food truck owner whose greed blocked her from receiving a Keith Lee blessing.

Not only did she take the $$$ that Keith had left for those other people.
Keith left nearly $1000 for her to give free food to the customers. She gave free meals to THREE people, before started charging people.

So, she was just shady all the way.

Saw her on TikTok trying to blame KEITH for her phucking greed.
    No, M’am.
    Not today.

I could maybe understand, if this was two years ago, before Keith really took off, and a business owner didn’t know what to expect.
    But, in 2024?
And, you had people contacting Keith to come to your business?

    You pull this nonsense?

Keith always does a 24 hour update, just in case his viewers didn’t see the original video.
And, now, I see local newscasts covering Keith’s visits to the city and where he went – so, you get THAT exposure.

But, your stupid azz threw all of that away for $5000?

    Absolutely absurd.

I do think she will be THE cautionary tale for future business owners who might have it in the back of their mind to be ‘ slick’. The internet is going to hold this woman accountable, and she’s going to learn that you don’t block other people’s blessings, even if you want to block your own.

  2. I am living proof of this truth. My father, son of Irish immigrants in NYC, born in 1920, joined the US Marine Corps after Pearl Harbor, served overseas, came home and went to college and law school on the GI Bill. He bought a lot and built a house on the GI Bill, while on his first job as a young attorney, and continued to prosper, better houses which increased in value, better jobs, and a move into generational wealth thanks to the GI Bill, which allowed and funded and created a middle class life, the American Dream, for its intended benficiaries, white people.
