ICE Shoots and Kills a Woman In Minneapolis

UPDATE:

Her name was RENEE GOOD.
She died at the scene.

Amy Klobuchar
@amyklobuchar
Renee Nicole Good was a mother of three, including a 6-year-old boy who is now an orphan.

Renee was deeply loved by many. Her mom described her as “one of the kindest people I’ve ever known.”

This is who we lost yesterday. By refusing to coordinate with local law enforcement, ICE is not making our community safe. It is making it less safe.

This is Renee Good.

She was a mother of a six-year-old child.

She was an American citizen.

She described herself as a “poet and writer and wife and mom and shitty guitar strummer from Colorado.”

And she was gunned down in cold blood and broad daylight by Trump’s ICE agents.

@allenanalysis
A doctor tried to save Renee Good after she was shot in Minneapolis.

ICE agents stopped him.

They claimed they had medics.
They blocked paramedics down the road.

They refused all outside aid.

When the doctor identified himself as a physician, ICE’s response was simple:

“I don’t care.”

That’s a regime that decided she was disposable.

Renee Nicole Good was murdered by ICE. She wasn’t just killed, she was murdered.

The right was already trying to vilify her before we even knew her name. But I’m just going to say it…

They’re going to have a much harder time doing that this time.

She’s not Brown.
She’s not Black.
She’s white.

    The ICE agent shot her 3 times in the head

    He called her a f*cking b*tch after.

    He denied an on scene doctor access to check her vitals and render aid.

    He delayed EMS from reaching her.

    He fled the scene.

    And half of you still think he was innocent & acting in self defence?

    One last thought for the night.

    I actually hope Trump pardons the ICE shooter.

    Accepting a pardon is an admission of guilt to the crimes it covers.

    It nullifies the 5th amendment protections and the Supremacy Clause.

    Meaning a federal officer can NOT use the Supremacy Clause to avoid state charges as the Supremacy Clause only covers lawful actions.

    By admitting you were guilty, you free yourself of federal charges ever, but you actually open yourself up to state ones, that have no statute of limitations.

    So in the end, justice would be served.

    Something I’m not seeing mentioned anywhere is that Renee’s wife, when talking about license plates, makes it clear that they are welcome to talk to her later because they are filming and got her license plate number. So this alleged terrorist was welcoming them to speak to her later and knew they had their license plate number & identities.

    Second, if ICE were worried about traffic violations they easily could’ve turned that video over to Minneapolis police just have them issue her a citation.

    A particularly damning point from a longtime FBI Agent. Ross has phone in his right hand, switches to left to free up the right hand as he walks to the front of the car. He unholsters his weapon just as she shifts from reverse to drive. He is anticipating shooting, not reacting.

    @RetroAgent12
    I’m genuinely curious who handed Ross’s cell phone footage to the media, which they credited to an “exclusive source.”

    Either Ross is foolish enough to have released it himself.. believing it somehow supported his actions.. or he shared it while bragging, and that person leaked it. Either way, it’s a catastrophic misstep, because no competent attorney would have allowed that video to go public.

    The most revealing moment in the footage is when Ross switches the phone from his right hand to his left before moving toward the front of the vehicle.

    That motion wasn’t incidental.. it freed up his gun hand. That’s the moment he made the decision to escalate, to create a self-defense narrative, over a scenario he created after being emasculated by those women.

    The central issue here is the “reasonable officer” test, which Ross clearly fails. JD Vance and Kristi Noem actually made things worse for him. By describing Ross as a “traumatized officer” who was still affected by a prior incident, they’ve helped prosecutors argue he wasn’t acting reasonably but emotionally… driven by trauma, not professional judgment.

    This could unfold several ways, but none of them end well for Ross.

    Jonathan Ross violated governmental policy.

    “Specifically, firearms may not be discharged at a moving vehicle unless:
    (1) a person in the vehicle is threatening the officer or another person with deadly force by means **OTHER THAN** the vehicle; or
    (2) the vehicle is operated in a manner that threatens to cause death or serious physical injury to the officer or others, and no other obiectively reasonable means of defense appear to exist, **WHICH INCLUDES MOVING OUT OF THE PATH OF THE VEHICLE.*”

    MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota investigators say they can’t access evidence after fatal ICE shooting and FBI won’t work jointly on probe.

    As I said in my thread yesterday 👇

    Wesley
    @WesleyLowery
    Minneapolis has been a key site of both the resistance to Trump administrations, as well as the battle over police reform/reinvention/abolition/your term of choice. It has a quickly-mobilized activist core on these issues (this was true *pre-George Floyd)

    Wesley
    @WesleyLowery
    DHS has its own use of force policy for its officers (which includes ICE agents), which a more narrowly worded ban on shooting at moving vehicles Last updated (as far as I can tell) in 2023 under Biden DHS secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

    Wesley
    @WesleyLowery
    for decades, some police departments across the country have banned officers from shooting at moving vehicles. Interestingly, in 2022 AG Merrick Garland updated the DOJ’s use of force policy to ban these types of shootings for its officers, too

    Wesley
    @WesleyLowery
    first, the behavior of federal officers (ICE, ATF, Park Police, FBI) faces far less scrutiny /carries less transparency. There’s a chance this officer’s name is never release, for example. Whatever investigation takes place federally (by ICE itself) likely won’t be released

    Wesley
    @WesleyLowery
    second: this is the type of shooting that happens a lot…an officer, on foot, trying to stop or detain the driver of a vehicle who is leaving — resulting in the officer moving in front of the vehicle, becoming afraid they’ll get hit or run over and then opening fire

    Innocent officers, do **NOT** flee the scene.

    Allen v. United States (1896):
    -Establishes that fleeing the scene may be weighed by juries as related to guilt.

    United States v. Serrano (7th Cir.):
    -Establishes that a single officer leaving the scene shows that he was not leaving for matters related to safety or an active scene.

    Illinois v. Wardlow (2000):
    -Establishes that, fleeing the scene is relevant evidence suggesting wrong-doing and may be brought forth as such by the prosecution.
