After hearing all of these horror stories, no way the Ferguson police can stay. It’s corrupt from the bottom to the top, all the way to the judge. The entire police force need to be dismantled and start new. Police were terrorizing black citizens. One woman spoke on how she was afraid to live in her own home. It’s so disturbing. Life in Ferguson was like on a plantation. The Mayor is completely tone deaf and not concerned at all about black citizens.
FERGUSON Mo. (Reuters) – City leaders in Ferguson, Missouri, confronted demands for reform from an angry crowd on Tuesday night at their first public meeting since last month’s fatal shooting of an unarmed black teen by a white police officer ignited weeks of protests.
The atmosphere was charged from the opening minutes as members of a largely black audience that numbered in the hundreds shouted over remarks by city council members, rising out of their seats and chanting in solidarity.
Crowd members had to pass through metal detectors and security guards to attend the council meeting, held at an area church. Some wore T-shirts emblazoned with the slogan “Hands Up Don’t Shoot,” a phrase that has become a national rallying cry for activists protesting the death of 18-year-old Michael Brown, and other acts of what they say are police abuse.

Woman shot during protest says police have yet to speak to her

(KMOV.com) – A woman who was shot during the protests in Ferguson said police have still not contacted her.
Mya Aaten-White said she was walking down West Florissant August 12 when she was shot in the head. Aaten-White said she was walking back to her car when the shooting occurred.
Aaten-White said police have yet to speak to her about the incident. Her alma mater, Howard University, stepped in and appointed a lawyer, but the two were unable to schedule a meeting with police.
“I have a strong distrust from them and they have not done what were supposed to do in my case,” Aaten-White said.
News 4 attempted to contact Ferguson police, but the department directed News 4 to a PR firm, the Devin-James Group. News 4 eventually obtained a police report. Devin James said the investigation in ongoing.
FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOV.com) — A Ferguson woman who was shot in the head last Tuesday during early moments of a peaceful Michael Brown protest said she is still waiting for police to take action.
“No officer ever showed up to speak with me… neither from Ferguson police or St. Louis County,” Mya Aaten-White told News 4.
Last Tuesday evening Mya Aaten-White says she was walking down West Florissant to get back to her car. Before she made it to her car, violence erupted.
“I made it a block and a half then I heard gunshots, I put my hands to my head and realized I had been shot in the forehead,” she said.
After the area was safe, a neighbor rescued her.
“A young man came over to me, picked me up off the ground…they carried me to a neighbor’s house of a young man who had just moved into a new home with his fiancé and their children.”
Aaten-White says it took some persistence to get police to respond to her gunshot wound to the head.
“We had to call 911 three times before we got a response vehicle there,” she said. “When they arrived, officers came with guns drawn. They questioned the homeowners about how long they’ve lived in the house; if it was under their name, and asked me what happened. I said ‘I was shot,’ obviously.’”
And the filth just keeps on coming. Black life does not matter to these evil souless slugs.

Long-time St. Louis activist Anthony Shahid will lead protesters across Interstate 70 today, shutting down the highway to protest the lack of a special prosecutor on the Michael Brown court case.
Protesters plan to meet at 3 p.m. at Hanley Road and then block the highway.
“It is going to cause people some discomfort, it is going to cause inconvenience to people,” says Eric Vickers, one of the organizers of the Justice for Michael Brown Leadership Coalition, about the highway protest. “That is a small price to pay to change the conditions for African American youth, and it is a very small price to pay to bring justice to Michael Brown. The Wednesday civil-disobedience action will be the start of a direct action campaign that will continue and will escalate until our demands are met.”
Protesters tried to shut down the highway last week, but Brown’s family asked to postpone.
St. Louis Prosecuting Attorney Bob McCullough, who is currently handling the local criminal prosecution of Darren Wilson, the Ferguson Police officer who shot and killed Brown in August, has refused to step down from the case despite repeated calls from Ferguson protesters for his removal. Now that Governor Jay Nixon has called off the state of emergency in Ferguson, he has no authority to name a new prosecutor in the Brown case.

There’s no shortage of calls for racial healing or proposals for community initiatives in slowly back-to-normal Ferguson, Mo. But as the dust settles and the tear gas cannisters pile up in recycle bins, a malignant return to that special brand of Ferguson status quo may be what’s really happening.
After everything that’s happened over the last month—despite management malfeasance on an epic scale—the same city-government officials who were around when Michael Brown was shot on Aug. 9 show no plans of going anywhere anytime soon. They lay comfortably low: a very solid and nearly all-white (save one) political power bloc running a city that’s just under 70 percent African American.
And the fact that seemingly no one in the Show-Me State of Missouri or with a high national profile has yet pulled the recall-election trigger is astounding.
Maybe folks in Ferguson and around St. Louis County don’t even realize that they have that option. But if they so choose, it’s within their power to immediately overhaul the complexion of City Hall. Missouri state law is actually gift-wrapped to give everyone in Ferguson a very important and lasting structural solution to their problem, since the criteria for a recall are fairly straightforward and even conveniently nebulous, if anyone has to play semantics with the enraged Missouri rednecks who would likely go ballistic if this route were taken: “misconduct in office, incompetence and failure to perform duties prescribed by law.”
If Ferguson’s current government doesn’t fit the criteria above for a recall, I’m not sure what does. And all that’s needed are signatures from 25 percent of registered voters and an election within 60 days. With those parameters, Ferguson’s black community should have already fielded a group of candidates and set an election for some time in mid-November.

One person told the council that, although they might think things will quiet down and that they can go back to business as usual, that the Black community was not going to stop and that they were not going to go away.
