50-year-old Walter Scott still called his mom everyday. He loved football, and the Cowboys. Today, he’ll be buried. http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2015/04/08/walter-scotts-mother-everybody-loved-him/

about the MSM focusing on Mr. Scott owing child support:

yet, nothing about the evidence being PLANTED on video.
    uh huh.

they really, honestly, truly, will scrape at anything to JUSTIFY A BLACK PERSON BEING MURDERED!!!@!!

I still think they’re mad that they couldn’t find a mugshot of Mr. Scott with which to blanket the airwaves, and despite some thinking that they were making fun of Scott’s family singing, that family’s raw pain, and practice of their beliefs and faith – it pierced through THEIR bullshyt and threw off the narrative they wanted to tell to help the murderer get off.

Derby spoke of a song the crowd was singing outside before the funeral. I don’t know it. I’d love to hear it.

“The crowd outside started started singing “what a mighty God we serve.” I haven’t sang that song in so long. Memories. #WalterScott”

Amen brother. Get them out now. Small men with ego’s, guns and abusing their power. This could not be any better stated.

    • Ametia says:

I sincerely hope these attorneys don’t go to numerous media outlets and GIVE AWAY their defense to Michael Slager’s defense attorneys!

  7. yahtzeebutterfly says:

Ametia, thank you for your beautiful memorial tribute to Walter Scott.

Your posted photos and videos are very moving.

Mrs. Scott, Walter’s mother, tears streaming from your broken heart, I embrace you. I cry with you and lift you up in prayer.

    • Liza says:

Yes, she breaks my heart. She is probably somewhere around 70 years old give or take a couple of years. Now she carries this burden for the rest of her days, her son murdered by a cop, someone who took an oath to uphold the law. And for no reason, no reason at all except the sickness inside that cop, his arrogance, his hatred for black men, his ignorance, his desire to physically hurt people, and his total lack of character.

  10. Ametia says:

Black parents grieving over their children, younger or older, they are their CHILDREN. It’s unbearably heartbreaking, when they are MURDERED by so-called law enforcement.

    Ametia writes

“I will not say rest in peace, Walter Scott. There will be no peace until the system of white supremacy and fear is DISMANTLED.

It is MY responsibility along with my White community to vote the oppressors out and call out those White manipulators who attempt to suppress the Black vote. Any of us who do not do this are accomplices of the oppressors and those who discriminate. Being silent and looking the other way is the very definition of guilt. Any White who does not attempt to repair the damage from the past or allows injustice towards Blacks to continue is part of the problem and shares the guilt. Yes, REAL present day guilt….shameful, inexcusable wrongdoing.

You know where I stand on this. I’m really at a loss for words on this murder. My thoughts and prayers for the Scott family. His family has Men & Women of the cloth and I can’t help but believe he was a good Christian man as well.

I’m posting one of my favorite songs for he and his family

It is so horrible it comes to this at the hand of a person sworn to protect us. Thank the Lord there will be some measure of justice.

I can’t agree more yahtzee, we need major changes and vote them out. It doesn’t matter where and what party. We all need to be responsible. An act like this sets back all the efforts that people of all color put forth into better race relations.

Once again we’re trying to grasp why would you shoot at someone running away ?? Why? is it the “I’ll show him” mentality ? Does this nut think it’s all like Dirty Harry? Thank God the video shows him altering the evidence and blows apart his claims as to his radio transmissions. Maybe someone should tell him “run” then open fire at his back.

        Racerrodig,

Beautiful hymn of love you posted.

        LOVE is the answer.
        https://youtu.be/CMj7UcjPZ0U&rel=0

        Think of your fellow man
        Lend him a helping hand
Put a little love in your heart

        You see it’s getting late
        Oh, please don’t hesitate
Put a little love in your heart

And the world will be a better place
And the world will be a better place
For you and me, you just wait and see

        Racer, you write

Yes, we all need to be responsible and push for a better world.

And, I am posting a photo that goes along with your question here:

  12. Liza says:

The flag draped coffin just rips me apart. So, we must pause and honor this man’s life, but we will never be silenced until all citizens of this nation are allowed to live their lives in peace. Never.

CNN is so transparent. The continual harping on Walter Scott running because he didn’t pay child support, on the day he’s being buried, Just DESPICABLE!
