Even though 3Chics Politico is written and curated by three women: Ametia, Rikyrah, and SouthernGirl2, I must nominate this as one of the most engaging blogs I've found. Devoted to politics and culture, these three shine a light on contemporary life with humor and spirit.

This St. Louis 6-year-old is collecting bow ties for science
Isaac Stork, a big fan of bow tie-wearing Bill Nye
the Science Guy, will set up a bow tie stand at the upcoming March for Science. All proceeds will benefit The Planetary Society.
I spot Isaac Stork through the glass door at Hartford
Coffee and recognize him immediately. He wears a blue button-up shirt, neatly adorned with a black bow tie and comes into the coffee shop beaming.
I quickly stand up and introduce myself to his parents, Sam and Mark Stork, and then to Isaac.
“Hi, I’m Isaac,” he says nonchalantly, as he continues his way to the
back section of Hartford Coffee where the toys are located.
His parents and I follow him to the back where we find an empty bench near the train table.
Sam and I sip our coffee, while Isaac investigates the toys. She
tells me that Isaac’s love of science began when he was one. He was mesmerized by the documentary series Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey from astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson.
“He couldn’t fall asleep unless it was on,” Sam says.
Isaac still admires Tyson, but Bill Nye the Science Guy
is his favorite scientist. “I like him because he knows science and
does a lot of science,” Isaac tells me as he pulls a stretched-out
orange slinky out of the toy box.
For Isaac, science and bow ties go hand-in-hand. He wears one everyday, much like his idol, Bill Nye.
“I like them a lot,” Isaac says. His mom says that he
initially became “obsessed with bow ties” because of Bill Nye, but also because it was a way to diversify his otherwise boring school uniform. “He wears bow ties to have choice,” Sam says.
Perplexed by the tangled slinky, Isaac brings it over to his mom to
inspect. I ask if the bow tie he’s currently wearing—which has “science rules” written on it in small letters—is his favorite.
He shakes his head, still looking at the tangled slinky. “My favorite is a blue polka-dot one.”
“It’s a Bill Nye bow tie,” his mom adds.
The idea for raising money for science came to Isaac one day in the
car. He was disappointed that he didn’t get to participate in the
Women’s March on St. Louis in January, so his parents told him that he could participate in the March for Science, which is scheduled in St. Louis for April 22 (other details are TBD).
As soon as he knew about the march, Isaac wanted to raise money for science. He plans to collect bow ties and sell them at the march.
Instead of a lemonade stand, he plans to have a bow tie stand.

Jim Webb on @MeetThePress: There is a campaign going on ‘on the Hill’ ‘in Media’, ‘in the Academia’ to ‘Personally Discredit’ Trump. #DINO
Fuck Webb & his Dem cohorts. They’re still furious about that BLACK Barack Obama winning two-term presidency.
So evident when some of them jumped ship, when PBO won in 2008. *LOOKING*YOU EVAN BaYh* Can’t stand the thought of the BLACK MANI CHARGE.
Jim Webb smirks to no end when Chuck Todd questions him about referring to Democrats as “they” instead of “we”.
GTFOH Jim Webb
Webb’s “THEY” = those BLAH & BROWN FOLKS!
This is the crux of the mater for Jim Webb & all those other MOFOs who scream “working class white voters. They could give a fuck about POC.
The Democratic BASE is PREDOMINATELY Black & POC, and that’s what has his knickers in a knot.
Cross on over to the GOP, Jim Webb, you share their RACIST VIEWS.

Luvvie is at it again…
This twitter rant is EPIC….and long overdue, cause I’m tired of these folks too.
…………….
Where is Hillary Clinton? Hopefully Taking ALL the Naps She Deserves!
Awesomely Luvvie — February 11, 2017
People really have some nerve. I keep seeing folks asking where Hillary Clinton is as everything goes to hell and it floors me. People are really wondering where the woman who won the popular votes by 3 million but still lost the highest office of the land is hanging. Folks fixing their faces to ask where the person who could almost taste history is as her opponent wins, and tries to bring on World War III. OH OK.
So last night, I went on a rant on Twitter because I’m sick of people on her behalf.
I don’t think it matters even slightly what the Clintons do now.
The Democrats have lost too many seats in Congress, too many governor positions, and too many state legislatures to not fully realize that the party has to be re-invented.
The Clintons are not going to be part of that re-invention even when they try to make their comeback. The people will say no.
I’m TIRED of Hillary & Clintons.
PERIOD

Stephen Miller Is a ‘True Believer’ Behind Core Trump Policies
FEB. 11, 2017
WASHINGTON — Staff members on Capitol Hill recall Stephen Miller, the 31-year-old White House adviser behind many of President Trump’s most contentious executive orders, as the guy from Jeff Sessions’s office who made their inboxes cry for mercy.
As a top aide to Mr. Sessions, the conservative Alabama senator, Mr. Miller dispatched dozens and dozens of bombastic emails to congressional staff members and reporters in early 2013 when the Senate was considering a big bipartisan immigration overhaul. Mr. Miller slammed the evils of “foreign labor” and pushed around nasty news articles on proponents of compromise, like Senator Marco Rubio of Florida.
One exhausted Senate staff member, forwarding a Miller-gram to a reporter at the time, wrote: “His latest. And it’s only 11:45 a.m.”
The ascent of Mr. Miller from far-right gadfly with little policy experience to the president’s senior policy adviser came as a shock to many of the staff members who knew him from his seven years in the Senate. A man whose emails were, until recently, considered spam by many of his Republican peers is now shaping the Trump administration’s core domestic policies with his economic nationalism and hard-line positions on

The Madness of King Donald
By Andrew Sullivan
I want to start with Trump’s lies. It’s now a commonplace that Trump and his underlings tell whoppers. Fact-checkers have never had it so good. But all politicians lie. Bill Clinton could barely go a day without some shading or parsing of the truth. Richard Nixon was famously tricky. But all the traditional political fibbers nonetheless paid some deference to the truth — even as they were dodging it. They acknowledged a shared reality and bowed to it. They acknowledged the need for a common set of facts in order for a liberal democracy to function at all. Trump’s lies are different.
They are direct refutations of reality — and their propagation and repetition is about enforcing his power rather than wriggling out of a political conundrum. They are attacks on the very possibility of a reasoned discourse, the kind of bald-faced lies that authoritarians issue as a way to test loyalty and force their subjects into submission. That first press conference when Sean Spicer was sent out to lie and fulminate to the press about the inauguration crowd reminded me of some Soviet apparatchik having his loyalty tested to see if he could repeat in public what he knew to be false. It was comical, but also faintly chilling.

Andrew Sullivan says journalists should be talking about Trump’s mental health
By Brian Stelter
NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — Andrew Sullivan says it’s time for journalists to talk publicly about President Trump’s “mental stability.”
“To have such an unstable figure, incapable of accepting reality, at the center of the world, is an extremely dangerous thing,” Sullivan said in an interview for Sunday’s “Reliable Sources” on CNN.
“When the central figure in our political system is creating an entire world of unreality, how are we supposed to respond?” he asked. “And I think we have to respond. We have to respond by saying ‘Excuse me, Mr. President, with all due respect, you keep telling us things that are not true. Can you please stop this?’ And if you can’t stop it, if you simply keep asserting the world is one way when it really isn’t, because everybody else can see it, then we have a serious problem at the very heart of our government.”

Thank you, for this, Yahtzee.
You are very welcome, Ametia. Hope you’ve had a great weekend!
This is a great story. The truth is, someone has to be there to take pictures of the good times. We should take comfort in knowing that despite all of history’s tragic events which are the source of so many iconic photos, there were also those times when people were enjoying their lives, doing what folks do.
Yes, it is a great story. Liza. I am so glad all of Mr. Burnis McCloud’s work is preserved.
Amen.
