Multiple transactions involving legal entities controlled by President Donald Trump and his son-in-law Jared Kushner aroused the suspicion of anti-money laundering specialists at Deutsche Bank in 2016 and 2017, according to the New York Times.

The specialists recommended the matter be referred to a unit of the Treasury Department that polices financial crimes, but bank executives rejected their advice, the newspaper reported on Sunday.

As a result, the “suspicious activity reports” prepared by compliance staff members about the Trump and Kushner transactions were never filed with the government, the New York Times reported.

The report didn’t give specifics about the nature of the transactions but said some of them involved money being transferred back and forth with foreign entities or individuals. Former employees of Deutsche Bank, which has lent billions to the Trump and Kushner companies, told the New York Times that the decision not to report the transactions reflected the bank’s indifferent approach toward money laundering laws and its focus on protecting its relationship with important clients.

Representatives for the Trump Organization told the New York Times that the company had no knowledge of any flagged transactions with Deutsche Bank. A representative for Kushner Companies told the New York Times that any allegations regarding Deutsche Bank and Kushner Companies that involve money laundering are made up and false.

    The national Democrats already responded to this question- they would codify Roe in federal law. Now the Republicans need to be asked for a real response. Roe protected national Republicans in swing and D states. They could claim they were kicking it to the states. Now that the states have acted and we’re on the way to legal, total bans they should have to respond to the whole range of possible outcomes.

    Now that these laws have passed and we’re headed for overturning Roe, Republicans need to be asked if they plan a federal law banning abortion, or if they would vote for one if it came up.

    Because it will come up. Religious zealots aren’t going to be satisfied with 25 states. They can’t redefine “a person” in half the country and not the other half.

    We need a whole new discussion of abortion – one that includes the reality of what has happened- the profound changes these laws bring about- and what is now likely to happen. A federal law is next.

      Same folks who also burst arteries when they heard the historic and popular Obamas were getting a historic deal for their historic presidential memoirs – just like every other modern day presidential First Couple before them.. except that they and theirs were in more demand than any before them..

      The haters have tried to maliciously and spitefully block the Obamas’ blessings.. ..slandering and disparaging them at every turn while rifling through their bank accounts, post-presidential agreements etc, …and all while excoriating and wagging their fingers at them and shrilly instructing them on the what and who and how …even the what to prioritize …and what to do with their own hard-earned money – even before they’ve made the money …and even demanding that the same Obamas immediately dole out unlimited free monies to folks .. give folks money for whatever folks want – or else; Same haters shrilly instructing the Obamas on where to immediately begin dispensing the projected earnings the same haters have tried to block and aggressively begrudged the Obamas …and while at it, insisting that the Obamas buy everyone a home or two – and pay off folks mortgages, student loans etc… And even then..
