Some different voices about COVID-19:
Epidemiologically speaking, it seems unwise to me to assume there is pre-, post- or #COVID19 era. It would seem preferable to deal with #COVID19 as one of the many threats to health/life, in an integrated way.

While #COVID19 is a novel threat to health/life, it may help to realise that it primarily acts as an amplifier of pre-existing problems. As an example, disease outbreaks in care homes are nothing new (see e.g. below).

The #COVID19 pandemic, as severe as it is, is not the end times. There will be an aftermath to it, probably sooner than many seem to believe. As such, it may be good to balance current measures with their cost, present and future, in particular to the younger generations.

How can we help the children?😪😪😪
A definite and unmistakeable uptick in children coming to the ED for depression or on holds. They aren’t just “a bit sad”. They are clearly in crisis. I don’t have solid numbers. Just a clear departure from my 20+ years of practice.

I’m not sure I agree with all the optimism of this (I think the marathon may be just as hard as the sprint, in its own way), but 100% yes on the unspoken trauma of lockdown. Lockdown wasn’t all baking and Zoom drinks – it was a spiral into despair. https://t.co/Ant0Bxasa5 pic.twitter.com/9fU1D4cOBj

This morning a huge male coyote was walking on top of my 5 foot high block wall fence. I’ve seen bobcats do that, it’s easy for them. But never a coyote.
He was majestic.
Another neighbor said that a bobcat has taken over their backyard, they’re afraid to go out there anymore.
It’s actually kind of funny but I might feel differently if this giant coyote decides he likes my yard.
