The move follows a demand for a speedy trial by one of Trump’s co-defendants, Kenneth Chesebro. Under Georgia law, defendants who make a speedy trial demand in Fulton County are supposed to go to trial within roughly 4 months — if not, that could be grounds for dismissal.
