Getting rid of more institutional memory to be replaced by mediocre, unqualified incompetents, if they will actually be replaced at all.

Trump removes nearly 30 career diplomats from ambassadorial positions

By MATTHEW LEE
Updated 11:33 AM CST, December 22, 2025

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration is recalling nearly 30 career diplomats from ambassadorial and other senior embassy posts as it moves to reshape the U.S. diplomatic posture abroad with personnel deemed fully supportive of President Donald Trump’s “America First” priorities.

The chiefs of mission in at least 29 countries were informed last week that their tenures would end in January, according to two State Department officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal personnel moves.

All of them had taken up their posts in the Biden administration but had survived an initial purge in the early months of Trump’s second term that targeted mainly political appointees. That changed on Wednesday when they began to receive notices from officials in Washington about their imminent departures.

Ambassadors serve at the pleasure of the president although they typically remain at their posts for three to four years. Those affected by the shake-up are not losing their foreign service jobs but will be returning to Washington for other assignments should they wish to take them, the officials said.

………………………..

Africa is the continent most affected by the removals, with ambassadors from 13 countries being removed: Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Madagascar, Mauritius, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Somalia and Uganda.

Second is Asia, with ambassadorial changes coming to six countries: Fiji, Laos, the Marshall Islands, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines and Vietnam affected.

Four countries in Europe (Armenia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Slovakia) are affected; as are two each in the Middle East (Algeria and Egypt); South and Central Asia (Nepal and Sri Lanka); and the Western Hemisphere (Guatemala and Suriname).

Your town is paying more for fire trucks because a small number of private equity firms have consolidated the market, leading to higher costs, less competition, and delayed deliveries. That means you paying more in property taxes, and your firefighters have fewer resources and older equipment.

Housing and healthcare aren’t the only places where market failures lead to higher costs. And Apple and Google aren’t the only anti-competitive market players out there.

We need members of Congress who are focused on making sure that markets work to promote competition and bring prices down — for consumers and taxpayers alike.

    Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib
    @afalkhatib
Can I only speak next to a ‘Hamasnik’ or an anti-Israel voice? Recently, my team and I communicated with the Middle Eastern Studies department of one of the top, most prestigious schools in the United States, and indeed, the world, to discuss an opportunity for me to come and speak to students about my work, Gaza, Realign For Palestine, Hamas, and hopes for a better future. The professor and head of the department were upfront in how terrified they were about the prospect of receiving backlash; they were highly concerned with how I was “perceived” by average “pro-Palestine” students and communities, and said they could face immense backlash for having me on their campus.

Despite the individual’s personal appreciation for my voice and perspective, they described the terror and fear they live under, thanks to the incitement, insanity, borderline violent activism, and pro-terror sentiments that some students and faculty express. The only way, they said, to have their Ivy League university allow me to speak was to do so next to a “mainstream,” “average,” and “acceptable” Palestinian and “pro-Palestine” voice.

Enraged, I asked how has academia declined so much that an independent pro-Palestine, pro-peace, anti-Hamas, anti-violence, anti-military occupation voice such as mine from Gaza is somehow viewed as “controversial” while literal Hamas enthusiasts and anti-America, anti-West, pro-terror students and faculty are somehow considered the “mainstream” of Palestinian communities and societies in the United States? How could it be that a university that helped pioneer technologies, nuclear physics, applied sciences, and modern-day advancements is held hostage by radical, pro-October 7, pro-extremist views?

I further inquired directly to this professor how they rationalize intentionally helping to platform such destructive views, which they knew were directly harmful to them, the discourse on Israel and Palestine, and against creating solutions for the future. How could such intelligent people, with skin in the game, be willing to contort themselves to the mob politics? How could someone with this stature continue to consent to participating in the platforming of violent rhetoric and divisive narrative over, or even instead of, perspectives like mine offering pragmatism, engagement, and solutions?

The sad truth is that mob politics, aggressive ‘activism’, and dogmatic professors define today’s universities. This is the state of academia today; this is what Ivy Leagues are producing: hordes of students who are bullies, unable to think critically or clearly, and a student life that caters to the most offensive and anti-freedom, anti-intellectual notions of the modern era.

I should not and will not be forced to speak alongside other “pro-Palestine” voices, who openly are the antithesis of the values and principles of non-violence, pragmatism, and centering Gazan voices and experiences. I will oppose every attempt to make my appearance somehow ‘more acceptable’ to elite universities in the West by tainting my pro-peace message or acquiescing to self-righteous teens and misinformed faculty. It’s a shame that taxpayer dollars continue to fund the indoctrination of the next generation of supposed “leaders” who are going to limit academic freedoms and progress through censorship and their mob-like behavior.

ICE moves Salisbury mother out of state, as attorneys try to get hearing set

A Salisbury mother, detained by ICE last week has been transferred to a Louisiana facility, a move her attorneys say has delayed court proceedings that could determine whether she is eligible for release on bond.

Vanessa Parrazal, 24, was taken into ICE custody Dec. 17, just minutes after dropping off her 5-year-old daughter at Pinehurst Elementary School, according to witnesses. Her legal team said she was initially scheduled for a Tuesday hearing, where attorneys planned to file petitions that could allow an immigration judge to immediately set bail. That plan changed Sunday, when Parrazal was transferred from Maryland to an ICE facility in Louisiana.

ICE says she’s a “criminal illegal alien from Mexico”, with a prior conviction.

But court records show the 4’10 ft., 100 lb. Parazzal was charged with second-degree assault in 2020 when she was 18, a charge later reduced to a misdemeanor, to which she pleaded guilty. Her only other court record is a 2020 traffic citation for driving without a license.

Her friends and neighbors told The Sun last week the assault case stemmed from self-defense against an abusive partner.

Vanessa has been is the US for twenty years and is a young mother.

Parrazal remains in ICE custody in Louisiana as her attorneys seek a path to bring her case back before a judge and secure her release.

    No longer a ‘conspiracy theory’

Online retailers are accessing your data and then adjusting prices for items based on that data

Airlines are being caught adjusting prices based on data too

“This holiday season, you and your neighbor could be shopping for the exact same item and pay different prices — surveillance pricing is and how your personal data plays a role.

You may be shopping for gifts from the comfort of your couch, but stores can still see who you are.

Most of these companies are charging you a different price based on some data they have about you. It could be your location, it could be your proximity to the store, it could be your shopping history, knowing that you bought a product previously and are willing pay for it again.”

“Consumer watchdog president Jamie Court says surveillance pricing is nearly impossible to avoid — Court says his organization has evidence all the major retailers use personal algorithms to nudge a price up or down, targeting data from your Amazon cart, Uber rides, or even the brand of laptop you’re using to shop”

“For those traveling for the holidays. Airlines will charge you a different price depending upon how many times you go to the website.

“Currently, there is no federal regulation for companies that use surveillance pricing. We reached out to the FTC”

Let’s get the facts straight regarding Trump’s newest statements about Greenland:

    1) Greenland has been owned by Denmark since 1380 and is today a fully integrated but self-governing part of Denmark. Very much like Alaska is part of the USA.

    2) The USA does not have any historical claims to Greenland. On contrary they have signed numerous treaties with Denmark recognising Danish ownership.

    3) The USA does NOT need Greenland for national security. The USA already has a defence agreement with Denmark that allows the USA to have as much military presence as they want in Greenland. They have decided to only have 150 troops currently. Why? Because:

    4) Neither China nor Russia have any presence in Greenland at all. No companies, no mining, no consulates. Nothing. And they do not threaten Greenland. The only threat against Greenland is the USA.

🚨BREAKING: ICE is now going after former DACA recipients… not because they’re dangerous, but because they’re easy targets to detain so private prisons can profit.

And this is what actually costs American taxpayers enormous amounts of money.

Detaining people who pose no public safety risk, who would normally never be detained at all, is wildly expensive… and taxpayers are the ones footing the bill.

Many former DACA recipients would typically be released, given bond, or allowed to remain free while their cases move forward.

But, under this administration, immigration enforcement has shifted toward one goal: hitting arrest and detention numbers.

When private prisons are paid per person, per day, every unnecessary detention becomes a revenue stream… and human beings become inventory.

And that is what happened to Ernesto Cuevas Enciso.

Ernesto came to the United States from Mexico in 1995. He was three years old. His baby sister, Miriam, was one. They grew up in Detroit. This is the only country he has ever known.

Ernesto previously had DACA, but lost that protection after old, nonviolent misdemeanors surfaced during a renewal screening… something that happens to many DACA recipients, even for minor offenses from years ago.

Today, Ernesto has legal work authorization through a different process and is actively pursuing a marriage-based green card. He is a construction worker, a husband, and the father of a one-year-old daughter.

While near a job site in Ypsilanti, an unmarked vehicle approached Ernesto and another construction worker. ICE detained both men.

Ernesto is now being held more than three hours from home at the North Lake Processing Center in Baldwin, the largest immigration detention facility in the Midwest. North Lake is operated by the private prison company GEO Group, which profits every single day Ernesto is kept locked up… while taxpayers pay the bill.

Families, attorneys, and civil-rights groups have repeatedly raised concerns about freezing temperatures, inadequate medical care, and barriers to contacting legal counsel at this facility.

Ernesto’s family and Michigan lawmakers are urging ICE to release him on bond. They’ve made it clear:

Ernesto is not a safety risk. He has been following the legal process, working, supporting his family, and trying to become a lawful permanent resident.

Instead, taxpayers are paying to keep a father away from his wife and baby… not because it makes anyone safer, but because detention numbers matter more than people.

    This isn’t fiscal responsibility.
    It isn’t public safety.
It’s cruelty… and it’s costing all of us.

Before this rule even hits the Federal Register, here’s what actually changes … in plain English … based directly on the final rule text (2025-23853).

    1. The H-1B lottery is no longer purely random

USCIS is replacing the random lottery with a wage-weighted selection system.

Registrations are still beneficiary-based, but higher wages now get better odds.

    2. Wage level determines lottery odds

Each H-1B registration is entered into the selection pool based on the offered wage:
    •Wage Level IV → entered 4 times
    •Wage Level III → 3 times
    •Wage Level II → 2 times
    •Wage Level I → 1 time

Every worker is still counted once toward the cap, but higher wages dramatically increase selection probability.

    3. Employers must disclose wage details up front

During registration, employers must now submit:
    •The OEWS wage level
    •The SOC code
    •The area of intended employment

These same details must later match the filed petition exactly.

    4. USCIS can deny or revoke petitions for manipulation

    USCIS explicitly adds authority to:
    •Deny amended or new petitions
    •Revoke approvals

If the agency believes changes were made to game the lottery (job title, location, wage level, or entity swapping).

    5. Entry-level and lower-wage H-1Bs are heavily disadvantaged

DHS estimates a sharp drop in Wage Level I selections.

The rule openly acknowledges that past abuse centered on:
    •Lower-paid roles
    •IT staffing and outsourcing firms
    •Wage suppression of U.S. workers

This rule is designed to reverse that trend.

    6. The cap size does not change
    •65,000 regular cap
    •20,000 advanced degree cap

What changes is who wins, not how many.

    7. Effective timeline
    •Final rule
•Effective for FY 2027 registration season
•Applies to all cap-subject registrations after the effective date

    Bottom line

    This rule:
•Explicitly admits the H-1B program has been abused
•Prioritizes higher wages over volume hiring
    •Makes entry-level and low-wage H-1Bs far harder to secure
    •Gives USCIS stronger enforcement tools

It does not end H-1Bs, but it fundamentally reshapes who benefits from them.

Curious what people think ….does this go far enough?

The WB/Paramount deal is reportedly backed by Saudi, Qatari, & Abu Dhabi wealth funds. It could provide access to Americans’ personal data & exert significant influence over the conglomerate.

The government needs to seriously investigate the national security risks here.

    Trump exposed that
    @govjefflandry
was lying about being asked to lead an envoy to Greenland. Jeff called the president and asked for the assignment.

Why would the governor of a state that ranks 50 out of 50 want that assignment? Diplomatic experience. Something that people who want to run for president try to get on their resume.

The reason I encourage you to share these videos is because we shouldn’t assume everyone knows what’s happening. Louisiana is impacting a lot in America today, so we should make sure that the country knows what Louisiana thinks about Jeff.

Often I’ve been seen as “too much” or “radical” for pushing for us to take care of ALL THE PEOPLE of Louisiana. Jeff out here chasing new states and hasn’t fixed ours. Conservatives keep failing us. Louisiana can do better than our current set of leaders.

It is highly probable that the #SupremeCourt will decide to dismantle the remaining parts of Section 2 of the #VotingRightsAct, which would eliminate almost half of the black representation in the southern states. Everything occurring at this moment was detailed by
    @rolandsmartin
in his book “White Fear.” If there has ever been a crucial time for us to unite and combat #whitesupremacy, it is NOW! #BlackAmerica, we must exercise our voting power in high numbers to overrule the #rightwing #Republican Party. I B-Mack also wrote an article how the gutting of Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act will affect Black America, check that out as well!

NEWS: The Trump admin has quietly implemented a near-total BAN on abortion care at VA, even in cases of rape or incest.

This is yet another attack on reproductive freedom and a profound betrayal of veterans who put their lives on the line for our country. Shameful.

Trump’s vow to retaliate against Colorado puts Rs here in a tight spot as Trump targets everything from disaster aid to science funding.

Colorado Rs, from the establishment class to ultra MAGA, are now echoing a potentially tough sell to Coloradans: Colorado deserves punishment.

Holy shit I think it’s actually happening.

I am reading through the Supreme Court ruling in Trump vs. Illinois, and they ruled that Trump needs to invoke the Insurrection Act in order to send the troops into Chicago.

Kavanaugh in his dissent even says that this ruling “could cause the President to use the US military more than the National Guard”.

The Supreme Court just admitted that Trump has the authority to invoke the Insurrection Act to bypass Posse Comitatus and send the troops to Chicago, and any other city he wants.

Trump tried to exhaust every legal avenue possible before resulting to the Insurrection Act, but the Dems resisted and refused to cooperate.

Sounds to me like Trump just got the green light. INVOKE THE INSURRECTION ACT!

Secretively & sickeningly, Trump’s VA is depriving women veterans of essential health care. A policy just issued by Sec. Collins stops this reproductive care even for women who are victims of rape or incest, or whose health is at risk.

The media didn’t just fall for that lie. They weaponized it. One of the most shameful frauds in modern political history.
