  4. Oprah’s network sends Iyanla Vanzant, spiritual life coach, to ‘heal’ Ferguson

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/style-blog/wp/2014/08/27/oprahs-network-sends-iyanla-vanzant-spiritual-life-coach-to-heal-ferguson/

Last week, Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network announced that it was sending Iyanla Vanzant — minister, spiritual life coach, host of OWN’s “Iyanla, Fix My Life” — to Ferguson, Mo., following the death of Michael Brown and the “subsequent unrest” in the town. The stated goal was for Vanzant to film a special episode of her TV show and “to listen to the people who have been adversely affected and to join the community in finding a path from violence into healing.”

    • Ametia says:

I saw snippet of Iyanla last night. She was with FPD Chief Jackson asking what he needs to help heal. I.JUST.CAN’T.

      • I’m with you. I just can’t. I have no energy.

      • Ametia says:

SG2, she was skinin’ & grinnin’. And Jackson’s sitting there read as a beet. It’s all to save face for him and FPD, nothing more. They don’t give a fuck ’bout no healing for the people of Ferguson.

That bastard released that store video of Michael Brown Jr. without releasing an INCIDENT REPORT from killer cop Darren Wilson. Nope! GTFOH

      • yahtzeebutterfly says:

Healing can only begin when Ofc. Wilson answers in a court of law about his execution-style killing of an unarmed teen who was surrendering with his hands up.

    • Ametia says:

this is how it’s done, Iyanla. The folks in Ferguson need to vote out people like chief Jackson, not hold his hands for healing. These folks need to initiate their own kind of racial attitudes and changes that has been branded in their DNA from birth.

GET OUT AND VOTE, FOLKS! Trust the states that have used every means necessary to SUPPRESS your votes are doing it because their way of life depends on you not VOTING!

Michael Brown’s Mom Laid Flowers Where He Was Shot—and Police Crushed Them
New details emerge about callous tactics that fueled anger in Ferguson.

—By Mark Follman | Wed Aug. 27, 2014 6:00 AM EDT

As darkness fell on Canfield Drive on August 9, a makeshift memorial sprang up in the middle of the street where Michael Brown’s body had been sprawled in plain view for more than four hours. Flowers and candles were scattered over the bloodstains on the pavement. Someone had affixed a stuffed animal to a streetlight pole a few yards away. Neighborhood residents and others were gathering, many of them upset and angry.

Soon, police vehicles reappeared, including from the St. Louis County Police Department, which had taken control of the investigation. Several officers emerged with dogs. What happened next, according to several sources, was emblematic of what has inflamed the city of Ferguson, Missouri, ever since the unarmed 18-year-old was gunned down: An officer on the street let the dog he was controlling urinate on the memorial site.

  6. Amid furor over killing, Brown’s family seeks solace

    http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/08/25/ferguson-michael-brown-missouri-police/14594185/

St. LOUIS — Lesley McSpadden waits for the crowds and the cameras to leave before she turns back to her son’s casket to kiss it goodbye.

Her moment to pay her last respects to her son, Michael Brown, came after his death from a police officer’s volley of gunshots, three autopsies and violent demonstrations in nearby Ferguson. It’s been two weeks of balancing grief with responsibilities. The teen’s parents have struggled with constant crying fits and sometimes paralyzing despair.

“It’s tough,” said Eric Davis, a cousin of Brown who has been supporting Brown’s mother throughout the ordeal. “My cousin Lesley has not been able to speak. She’s kind of been dazed, numb from everything that has been going on. Those are the times where I just hold her, talk to her, and try to comfort her.”

While the country has remained fixed on the vivid, tear-gas laden confrontations between police and angry residents in Ferguson, Brown’s family has been trying to cope with the media spotlight and a world without their son. The family granted a USA TODAY reporter exclusive access to Michael Brown’s funeral and memorial services.

Davis said that just before Brown’s death, the family had been in a celebratory mood. Lesley McSpadden, 34, got married about a month ago. A few weeks later, Michael Brown graduated high school.

Then, Aug. 9 shattered everything. Brown was shot and killed in an altercation with a police officer in Ferguson. Questions have been raised about what happened. Few have been answered.

A few days later, Davis said he, Lesley McSpadden, Brown’s mother, and Leslie McSpadden, Brown’s grandfather, sat in the mother’s bedroom listening to a man who said he witnessed the shooting. The man said he saw Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson empty his gun into Brown even as the teen tried to surrender.

The man’s story jolted emotion through Brown’s mother. “She just started running around the room and crying,” Davis said of the moment she heard the account.

Since then, Brown’s parents have been constantly on edge. Phones constantly ring with reporters asking for interviews or family members offering support. Last week, as demands reached a tipping point, both parents moved into hotels to shield themselves.

In the days leading up to the funeral, Brown’s mother continued to cry and spoke in whispers as she tried to explain her feelings.

“They say tomorrow is going to be the hardest day, but I think today was — just seeing my baby laying there, cold,” Lesley McSpadden, 34, told USA TODAY. “It did something to my heart. It’s too much. It’s too much.”

But I don’t need to give my money to anyone who stands before me and screams, “God wants you to prosper,” in one breath, and in the next break ask me to” give until it hurts.”
I’m going to make sure I can afford where I live, the food I buy, the clothes I buy, the car I drive, my health insurance, the debts I’ve incurred, etc.

I don’t need to sit and a building to believe in prosperity. NOPE!

  9. GrannyStandingforTruth says:

Last night I watched the funeral video it came to me while the stepmother was speaking. That the dream Mike had wasn’t only a prophecy of his death. The part about the bloody sheets on the CLOTHES LINE meant the airing out of laundry, which is playing out before our eyes with the corruption in Ferguson coming to light. Also death in a dream does not always mean death, sometimes it means an end or change to a situation. In this case, Mike said he kept dreaming about death, so there could be a multiple meaning to it.

    • GrannyStandingforTruth says:

What I mean is that it could mean both end and change.

    • Ametia says:

Granny-ME-YOU- EYE 2 EYE. on Mike’s prophetic dream and its meaning.

CHANGE IS COMING TO FERGUSON. And the layers upon layers of dirt, filth, stench, and lies will be swept away. It’s going to take some time, but CHANGE IS COMING TO FERGUSON.

    • yahtzeebutterfly says:

“The part about the bloody sheets on the CLOTHES LINE meant the airing out of laundry, which is playing out before our eyes with the corruption in Ferguson coming to light.”

      I agree with you, Granny.

I associate sheets with the kkk and racist vigilantes…..bloody sheets= blood on their hands. Michael was killed by one such person. He foresaw his own death at the hands of these people. Also, he was covered with a sheet rather than the usual cover that PD’s use.

Yes, I agree that with the airing (spotlighting) the community will push for an end to them + bring about change in Ferguson.

      • Wow! He saw his own death. My dad had a dream that a man waved for him to “come on” and cross the Jordan River. A few weeks later he was dead. My dad prayed for me and my little baby and said now I can go ahead and die knowing you’ll be here with your mother. And he did. *tears*

      • GrannyStandingforTruth says:

That too, Yahtzee! Mike’s dream said a lot. I got a feeling deep down in my soul and spirit, which says “Woe unto you who kill prophets.” Mike had the gift of prophecy.

      • GrannyStandingforTruth says:

        SG2,
Before my husband died, he told my children to hush because he was trying to hear what Jesus was telling him. Afterwards, he told my son to tell my daughter to make sure she come and see him at a certain time the next day because he was going home with Jesus. She was late. He died before she got there.

      • yahtzeebutterfly says:

No matter how much the officers of the Ferguson Police Department SCRUB their social
media, how much Chief Jackson wants to SCRUB the truth of Ofc. Wilson’s execution-style killing of Michael Brown, and no matter how much the Ferguson police tried to SCRUB their identities during the protest by not wearing badges, they cannot get the blood stains out of the sheets. The world knows what they did and what their mindset is by simply taking one look at those bloody sheets on the clothesline!

    • Ametia says:

Tell the truth. The system must be CHANGED, and the only way it can be changed is to remove the unchanged consciousness of the folks who are hell bent on keeping and maintaining the status quo, and replacing them with folks who are ready to move forward.

      • Liza says:

Operative words are “remove” and “replace” because leopards don’t change their spots. The change in consciousness is in reference to the aggregate, not the individual. Right, Ametia? I get you now.

      • Liza says:

But there is also the changing and developing consciousness of the young, those who still can change, who need to wake up to what will happen to them if they allow this evil to prevail.

Ferguson City Council meeting postponed indefinitely
    08/25/14 10:41 PM—Updated 08/26/14 08:31 AM

    By Alex Seitz-Wald

ST. LOUIS – Citing security concerns, Ferguson officials have postponed the community’s first city council meeting since the shooting of Michael Brown sparked two weeks of violence and racial unrest. The meeting was planned for Tuesday evening, but it has now been postponed indefinitely.

“After consultation with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the St.
Louis County Police Department, and the Ferguson Police Department, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Ferguson have made the difficult decision to postpone the City Council meeting,” the city said in a statement late Monday.

The meeting was expected to attract large crowds and protesters, and
officials had planned for tight security, including metal detectors.

“Due to increased interest from residents wishing to attend this
meeting, the City is searching for a larger venue to accommodate the
anticipated attendance. Our priorities remain the safety and well-being
of our residents and to allow for honest, productive communications,”
the city’s statement continued, adding that a new date would be released soon.

Instead, the mayor and city council requested residents to send feedback “via postage paid comment cards,” which will be delivered to
every home in the city this week. They also planned to create an online
    forum.

    • Liza says:

Well, what goes around comes around. Now they’re scared of the citizens. Boo hoo hoo.

Let them all resign and hold a special election. Get some folks on that council who are not afraid and will clean up that town.

The last photo of Michael Brown Sr. in the gallery says it all. He knows Michael Brown Jr. was EXCECUTED in BROAD DAYLIGHT, and left in the street bleeding out like a hog for 4 fucking HOURS!

      • FPD is so damn corrupt until the whole entire force needs firing and start new. It’s unbelievable.

      • Liza says:

That Darren Wilson is one f***ed up son of a b!tch. He can lie about murdering that kid until hell freezes. He can get other people to lie on his behalf. The Fraternal Order of Police and the police union can hire lawyers to lie for him. At the end of the day, Darren Wilson is nothing but a psychotic killer.

      • GrannyStandingforTruth says:

Yup! That’s about the size of it.

    • rikyrah says:

This would take me back to the private autopsy. I always thought it was strange that they said Michael Brown was shot ‘ at least 6 times’. They had the body. What do you mean ‘ at least 6 times’. but, this would make sense, if they can nail the official coroner on tampering with the body to try and lower the number of shots from 10-11 down to 6.

Black Darren Wilson Supporter to Megyn Kelly: ‘You Have to Give People a Chance’
    by Eddie Scarry | 10:23 pm, August 25th, 2014

Robin Clearmountain, a self-identified supporter of Ferguson, Mo., police officer Darren Wilson, said Monday on Fox News that the “distrust” of police in the city by blacks is “very disturbing.”

Clearmountain, who is also black and lives in the St. Louis, Mo., area, said she supports Wilson because she has “always had a deep love and respect” for police officers.

  22. Has the MSM Just Obliterated Darren Wilson Along With the Entire Ferguson Police Department?

    http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/08/25/1324389/-Has-the-MSM-Just-Decimated-Darren-Wilson-and-the-Entire-Ferguson-Police-Department

Sunday’s Washington Post featured an article which provided detailed background information about the troubled upbringing and early law enforcement career of 28-year-old Darren Wilson, the Ferguson, Missouri police officer who, on August 9th, abandoned all sane public policing procedures on the planet as he heinously fired at least six bullets into 18-year-old Michael Brown, killing him on the spot. A spot where the black youth laid on public display, in a pool of his own blood for four hours—the first of no less than two weeks’ worth of shocking, visual media reminders, laid bare for all the world to witness everything that’s wrong with the institutionalized racism that runs rampant throughout America’s militarized police state, today.

I featured many of the details within that WaPo story in a post here, early Sunday morning: “WaPo: Darren Wilson’s previous job was at disbanded PD fraught w/ racial tension, like Ferguson.”

Later on Sunday, and just in time for today’s delayed and highly emotional start to the new school year in Ferguson, the HuffPo jumped onboard the MSM’s inconvenient-truth-fest about the outlandish, recent history of the Ferguson Police Department with a story (SEE: “Ferguson Police Officer Justin Cosma Hog-Tied And Injured A Young Child, Lawsuit Alleges”) about the outrageous behavior of a slew of St. Louis County law enforcement officers, specifically focusing upon another two of Ferguson’s 50 white (out of a total of 53) police officers (in a city where almost 70% of its citizens are African-American), starting with patrolman Justin Cosma, who joined the city’s force in Fall 2012, “transferring” from his job as a Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputy where it’s alleged (in a pending lawsuit by the victim) that he choked, hog-tied and otherwise beat the crap out of a 12-year-old boy in front of his own house for the capital crime of checking his mailbox at the end of his driveway.

As you’ll read about it below, I haven’t even mentioned Ferguson police officer Eddie Boyd III. According to the HuffPo, he had faced “allegations of hitting children” (including pistol-whipping a 12-year-old girl in the head; and, in a separate incident, repeating the same behavior against a teenage boy to his nose) while serving in the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. Eventually, and after being demoted, Boyd “resigned…and he was hired by the Ferguson Police Department sometime between July 2009 and December 2010.”

      • Ametia says:

I’ve said it before, these police departments around the country hire the most depraved white trash they can find, them and the KKK ilk.

    • Liza says:

      Holy crap.

      Am I surprised? Actually, no.

    • Liza says:

In all honesty, I hope the DOJ fast tracks this one. I would just as soon this be a federal case and skip the corrupted state of Missouri. Ferguson’s law enforcement is just a cesspool. And I wouldn’t trust them to justly handle a parking ticket let alone a murder committed by a cop. Just saying…

But I will also say this. We have a nationwide problem here that is not going to get solved at the state level, not any state. The solutions will be federal, and it may as well start with psycho-killer-racist Darren Wilson.

    • yahtzeebutterfly says:

You mean the MSM is finally seeing the depravity within the Ferguson police force??

      • GrannyStandingforTruth says:

Yes, disbanded and not allowed to ever again be employed as a police officer. No more transferring bad cops to other police stations to commit more brutality.

  23. GrannyStandingforTruth says:

I pray that no other mothers have to experiences the pain of losing a child the way Michael Brown’s mother has. Heartbreaking down to core.

    • Liza says:

Yeah, Michael almost made it to college. These young folks need to realize that the time is now for them to decide what kind of country they want to live in. They need to become engaged and stop turning away as we move from one crisis and/or tragedy to the next. Media separates news stories and would have us think that nothing is related, that life is just one news cycle followed by another. But that isn’t true. There is always a direction, a trajectory, and these young folks need to look ahead and do a hell of a lot more than what they are doing right now. A lot of things need to be tended to.

      • Ametia says:

Totally agree Liza. Instead of shouting down Jesse Jackson and telling him. “We don’t want you here,”

      • GrannyStandingforTruth says:

MSM media has taught Black people to hate their own. MSM has always been a tool to divide in our community. MSM did the same thing during Reconstruction and Jim Crow and it was instrumental in Black settlements being burned to the ground and innocent Blacks being hung. That needs to stop! United we stand, divided we fall, which has always been one of the root causes of obstruction in our community.

    • yahtzeebutterfly says:

Alright now! This is great to see. Michael Brown has sparked a movement!

  24. These are some touching photos.
