Open Thread | Dear Michael Bloomberg, Nobody Believes Your ‘Stop & Frisk’ Apology😠😠😠

So…..now that he’s running for President, Michael Bloomberg has apologized for Stop and Frisk.

He terrorized non-White men for years, but, now that he’s running for President, he has decided to apologize.

Well, apology not accepted.

Usually, when White folk do apologies like this, they are doing it for a White audience. The problem for Bloomberg is that this is the Democratic Party Primary, and non-Whites compose over 40% of the voters. The people whose husbands, sons, father, grandfathers, uncles who were terrorized by this policy, are the base of this party.

As a Black woman, I am glad that I belong to a party where I don’t even have to consider someone who put into place a policy that terrorized-FOR YEARS- men who looked like me.
Bloomberg -completely CANCELLED😠😠

But, folks have RECEIPTS😠😠😠

    This is nuts.

Trump is turning the U.S. military into a mercenary army that shows up only when someone pays us.

And this break with South Korea just further strengthens Kim Jong-Un. t.co/IHOzrE431q

The US economy is losing billions of dollars because foreign students aren’t enrolling
    By Evelina Nedlund, CNN Business

Updated 9:47 AM ET, Tue November 19, 2019

New York (CNN Business)Fewer international students are coming to the United States. That’s hurting American universities and the economy.

The continued decline in international student enrollment since the fall of 2016 has cost the US economy $11.8 billion and more than 65,000 jobs, according to estimates from NAFSA: Association of International Educators, an international association of professional educators.
“There’s many variables, but largely it’s been the policies and rhetoric from the current administration that’s really driven the numbers to move in that direction,” said Rachel Banks, director of public policy at NAFSA.

There’s a perception among international students that getting a visa for the United States is more difficult, and they increasingly feel unsafe in America, NAFSA survey data show.

FFS, it’s perfectly okay and legal to drink a pint of vodka every night but recreational marijuana needs more research to determine if it is a “gateway” drug.

First of all, just about everybody who wanted recreational marijuana for the last century has been able to get it. We could legalize it today and there would be no appreciable effect on the health of the nation. It just wouldn’t be a crime anymore.

Looking to the states to legalize or not legalize recreational marijuana is stupid AF. I don’t even need to explain why, it’s obvious to everyone except 20th century politicians.

seems like a romantic situation gone wrong. killer killed his ex and her new love before killing himself.
that was the latest story I read on the situation.
This doesn’t seem to be random.

OT: have you read anything more about the killings at the California Home BBQ last night? All I’ve got was 4 dead, and 6 more shot.

I did not know this about the Louisiana election:

PLEASE don’t overlook this: This fall was the first election where tens of thousands of Louisianans on parole & probation were eligible to vote. (Bipartisan law passed last year.)

The SoS didn’t do nearly enough to reach out. But @FIPVOTENOLA did tremendous outreach work.

This is why I refuse to give up on Florida. Yeah, poll tax aside…

ONE MILLION, FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND PEOPLE WHO COULDN’T VOTE IN 2016 CAN IN 2020.

Sure, some, hell, a lot of those will register and vote for the muthaphuckas who never wanted them to have their voting rights restored.

But, then, there are a lot that WON’T vote for them. We just have to make sure that they get registered.

South Jersey Man Accused of Anti-Semitic Vandalism, Plotting to Kill Black Shoppers with Machete at Mall

    The sickness is so deep!

Racism and mental illness is a deadly combination.

Folks in North Central New Jersey could’ve felt the full effect of this as some fool who authorities said ordered vandalism of Midwestern synagogues plotted to “let loose” on black shoppers at a nearby mall.

18-year-old Richard Tobin is federal authorities’ latest target of a law enforcement crackdown against alleged white nationalists in the Northeast region.

According to NJ.com, Tobin was sitting in his car at the Menlo Park Mall in Edison, N.J. holding a machete and wanted to unleash homegrown terrorism on the masses.
