Fabulous poster over at BJ made this point a couple of months ago, and it never left me.
See how she sees it:

I know that I go on and on about how there is a large-scale push to drive women out of public life and back into the home, and other commenters are fantastic about pointing out that trans and LGB people are at terrible risk right now, and we all see the the use of force against Black and undocumented people. I just want to point out that all of this is part of a grander strategy, it is one narrative arc. It is an attempt to restore straight white men, ostensibly practicing Christians but who knows what’s in anyone’s heart, to a position of social and familial control and high status, to make society’s tastemakers and influencers reflect back their needs and desires.
Absolutely, positively nailed it.
It’s all connected, and I want people to see how it’s all connected.
The ban on abortion. Taking away the body autonomy of women.
The going after of birth control. Trying to take away the body autonomy and sexual freedom of women.
The going after of Affirmative Action. The trojan horse is that there are too many undeserving Black and Brown people getting into these institutions of higher learning. The real deal has always been who has benefitted most from Affirmative Action – WHITE WOMEN. They have benefitted most from Affirmative Action. THEY are the ones filling those spots in Medical School and Law School.
There is a post from Stanford Medicine about their latest group of chosen Surgical Interns.
Here it is.

Now, I look at this, and I was thrilled. Overjoyed to see all these women getting the opportunity to further their medical training in on of the most difficult areas of concentration at one of the most prestigious institutions in this country.
When I say that this picture set a certain group of folks OFF….
All the people who would rail about ‘quotas’ and ‘meritocracy’ were suddenly flooding this post with demands to see who applied and what percentage of men applied? What men missed out on this opportunity because of these ‘ less qualified’ women taking ‘ their spots’.
These smart women who have worked hard, and are committing themselves to a challenging field where they will become skilled surgeons.
These self-sufficient, independent future high earners. Average surgeon in California makes $468,000. I don’t care if it is California, if the AVERAGE of something is making $468,000, they are doing well. So then, I looked again at all those non-White faces, and the thought of them pulling down that kind of salary, if not higher, and I smiled even more. You want to step to those women, you better step correctly, because they don’t have to deal with nonsense.
They want to push these women out of this sphere. These women aren’t sitting around, waiting for a man. They are living their lives. Shaping their lives. Making their own decisions. If they want to travel, they will. If they want to own a home, they will. If they want to become a parent, they will – however they want. They aren’t looking for some man to ‘lead the household’.
Look at all the anti-abortion laws that have been passed in these Red States. None of them care about the health of the mother. None of them. The health of the mother isn’t even considered. The health of the actual woman carrying the baby is an afterthought. If it weren’t, we wouldn’t be getting all of these nightmare stories of women bleeding out, almost dying, getting irreparable harm done to their bodies because they can’t get proper healthcare.
Stories like this:
Reality: You don't know how a pregnancy will go until you know how it's going. Forced birthers love to talk about taking responsibility for the choice to have sex. Those capable of getting pregnant also need to take responsibility for knowing the laws they'll be 2/

Because she, her husband, and their doctor were not given the option to make the best medical decision for them, the option to have more children if she wanted them, has been taken away from them. She also risked dying. 4/ pic.twitter.com/KpFg3xIrwe

The plan to bring back “maternity homes”. Another scam.

Another theme floating is “what will happen to the poor men?”
When right-wingers bellyache over the state of 'manhood', what they're really pissed-off about is the idea of white men no longer being the dominant social demographic in a multicultural America.
They hate the thought of competing for what they think they're entitled to.
